Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago... i have always been regular on my period, but was diagnosed during a routine scan.
Me and my boyfriend only decided to start trying the other day. I havent come on my period this month and 10 days late.
I have never been on the pill cos im always regular and usually use condoms, but they have split a few times.

Im just wondering, if i get a regular period (apart from this month) will i still ovulate normally?

What are the chances of me getting pregnant on my own.

P.S I have done two preg tests and both neg.

thank you

I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 15 I believe it was, so I have been living with it for almost 4 years now. My periods weren't regular, so I have had to go on the pill. They say that with PCOS it is harder to get pregnant, not impossible, but harder, and you have more luck the younger you are (or the younger the better). You can and still ovulate with PCOS, the problem is you usually produce cysts that are painful. I know that without being on the pill it is too painful for me to do anything during the time that I would be ovulating. . . so nothing ever happens during that time for me. My other thought is when you were diagnosed, did they just tell you that you had PCOS by looking on an ultrasound? because they had to do all kinds of blood work and other tests to diagnose me. Not that they misdiagnosed you, but what other symptoms do you have?

I would recommend, if you are not PG this cycle, to start charting. It is really easy once you get use to it and helps you learn ALOT about or body. Or at least by the book, Taking Charge of your Fertility" and read it. If you had more stress this month around ovulation, that will cause your period to be late plus many other factors can cause it to be late other than being PG. You can chart for free at fertilityfriend.com Everyone is different, I know at least three people who were told they would have problems and got PG with at least 2 kids with no problems.

Most ladies with pcos can conceive on their owns, some don't you, like myself, I had a bad case of it, so far I have been ttc#1 for 4 years now, I did clomid for 4 cycles that didn't work, now on metformin and have a reguler 29 day cycle from it, the chances for ladies with pcos to conceive on her own would be like10-15% a month, as for healthy ladies its only 20-25% a month, just keep eathing healthy and try taking care of your body
