Is it true racism or is it the need for the scum of society to try to be above someone else and that is why they are being racist?

This has always been an issue of people (not necessarily "scum") trying to elevate their sense of worth by keeping another group down. If there is a permanent underclass in society, there will always be someone who is not "as good" as you. Additionally, the underclass will begin to divide itself and create a hierarchy within their own ranks so that they too can have someone to look down on.

It is true and it is vitriolic. It's illogical and unreasonable. I'd bet my first born (whenever s/he get here) that those people don't realize who ridiculous they sound rejecting responsibility for certain events because their ancestors weren't involved but taking full credit for the accomplishments of Thomas Jefferson, Elizabeth I, George Washington, etc. who aren't their ancestors either.

Bryan - when considers that Latinos were here first (wasn't just Native American land) and we brought blacks here I'm thinking that, not only is your statement ignorant in terms of racial equality but it's also ignorant from an historical perspective. If we only wanted to be around people who look like us we should have stayed in Europe. Additionally, there are plenty of wht's that I don't want to have around and want absolutely nothing to do with.

This country was built on racial divides. As my grandmother said she grew up with hearing: if you're black, get back, if you're brown, stick around, if you're white, you're alright. Native Americans were enslaved, Blacks were enslaved, even the Japanese during WW2 were confined in camps after Pearl Harbor while citizens in America. This country is still very young compared to the rest of the world; it wasn't up til 40 years ago segregation was banned. We no longer have the separate water fountains, or back of the bus nonsense, I believe there is still silent segregation and racism alive in this country. It starts in the home, raising our children to embrace human race, not color, and folks are not doing this. I believe the scum of society include the racists, friend.

Bryan D: how unfair of you to say this? "why would white ppl want want them around(Blacks and Latinos)?" Whatever your experiences may be, we, minorities, have our bad eggs no different than white ppl, we are no different. We aspire to have the same for our families, and believe in some sort of American dream. Get to know more of us, you'll be surprised with the knowledge you obtain.

coming back to a racist third world country.whites in america are so uneducated and think that race is sort of a noble prize with humanity. when your father is a black air force general with a phd from mit.
white racism is childish and ancient.

Even 'true racism' is based on the need to be 'better than' others. The Christianization of America is also a huge culprit in the societal weakness that is the practice of racism. All three Abrahamic faiths require adherents to consider themselves 'better than' others.

And by calling others the scum of the earth you are doing exactly what you are accusing them of - having the need to be above someone else.

It isn't fair to accuse white people of racism in view of the fact
that minorities, especially blacks and latinos, just aren't very good people to live around. Why WOULD white people want
them around ?
