i know why. meowth liked this rich meowth and she didnt like street rats. so meowth learn to talk and walk to make him more civilized.even all that work she reject him for a persian.
meowth just cant catch a break.

it was a story of love. a long time ago in hollywood, meowth was a stray pokemon, who was in love with a meowth who was really rich, but the rich girl meowth said that she thought meowth was a freak. so to impress her, he tried to learn to talk. he snuck onto a roof of an english class every night and learned along with them. the first word he said sucsessfully was "rocket", so giovanni the founder of team rocket, let him join. he got better and better, until he was a sucess. he tried to show off his skills to the meowth, meowsi i think was her name. but then she said he was a freak, still. meowth was heartbroken, and tried and tried till he couldnt try no more. hope that helped.

oi im a geek ok well in the story he feel in love with this over meowth but she was in love with her master so he tryed acting like her master and he eventualy got a hang of it but then she though he was a freek... this is true i acualy use to watch the show

meowth learned to talk to impress another meowth. he lived in the attic at a school and started to do the speech lessons that the kids were doing. he had found the practice books in the attic and took over his learning from there. but in the end the other meowth didn't appreciated it and called him a freak.

In one of the episodes Meowth was saying that he saw all the humans talking and he wanted them to understand him more clearly so he strived for a long time learning how to talk.
