People on here sound so stupid when they ask questions that could be answered with very little research.
Do your own homework. Use spell checker. I can't understand a lot of questions because people can't spell or form a sentence.

Should have said "Why don't people....."

I just had to vent this morning. Need a nap.

Your question confuses me. I agree that there are too many people asking homework questions and too lazy to use a search engine, but did you realize your title is "Why DO people research before asking questions?"

Asking the question IS their "research." If you're asking why they have time to come here and ask the question and don't, apparently, have time to jump onto yahoo proper and type in the same thing, I really couldn't tell you.

Others are just being troublemakers or using this as a form of propaganda to get their opinions out there.

Some of us ask questions for the companionship we receive from the answers. Some of us are showoffs and do it for attention. some are troublemakers and do it to make others react with anger. A lot of the questions are asked by people who dont speak or write English well, but still they wish to participate, and it is their right---they mean no harm. Some of the people are very young and ask immature questions. It takes all kinds to make a world, you know. Hope I have answered your question.

Please be a little more gracious, and make a better effort to want to help others.

I've decided to ignore spelling errors. I don't feel obligated to make them, by any means, but I really enjoy learning different ideas from people and answering questions, and I don't think that knowledge of grammar should limit curiosity.
