emotional abuse is sometimes worse than physical abuse. At least with the physical your injuries will heal but with emotional that is where it gets into your brain. It's when someone tells u how worthless u r, ugly u r, and just basically tears u down so that u feel useless. It takes a long time to get over this if u ever do

Instead of black and blue marks on your body from physical abuse, this leave black and blue marks on your mind, personality and soul.

If you start to feel worthless, below eveyone else, depressed, small, helpless, submit easily to what he wants, you could be the victim of emotional abuse. It's a mind game he's playing to get full control over you. He make you feel like dirt so you will do what ever you can to make him feel better or like you again. Meanwhile your body and mind are getting a beating from all of this becasue you actually begin to believe the crap he's tell you about yourself.

That's how I would explain it.

They say, 'no one can hurt you emotionally unless you let them'. I agree to one point.....they can't hurt you emotionally unless you already love them and care about them. Emotional abuse comes in many forms.
It can be silence, it can be hurting words, it can be mind games; meaning they turn things around and make it seem like it's all your fault or your problem. And so on.
You can try to continue to love someone that treats you this way, but your love is one sided. Not only do these kinds of people not love you back, they do not love themselves, and probably never will. Unless they get help from a proffesional.
I went for years trying to love a man like this, only to find out after 25 years nothing had improved, nothing. It only got worse.
So take care.
God, bless!

WHEN SOMEONE MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CAN'T DO NOTHING RIGHT AND THAT YOU ARE THE MOST UGLIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD, PUTS YOU DOWN AND BASICALLY YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A PIECE OF S**T. IF YOUR IN A RELATIONSHIP LIKE THAT- GET OUT!! THEY WILL NEVER CHANGE AND I COULD TURN INTO PHYSICAL ABUSE IN TIME.

when a man you are dating belittle's you. makes you feel like nothing to keep you.

alot of men do this.

it's like physical abuse but of the mind.

which tends to be worst.

They basically try to break your will and have you stop loving yourself.

you feel you can't live without them because you have a problem, but their the one with the problem.

When someone munipulates you by making you feel as though they are right ALL the time, and that you are wrong ALL the time. When someone makes you feel like you are not worth compromising for. When someone makes you feel unattractive either passively, by ignoring you, or aggressively by giving you negative attention like calling you names.
