Finishing highschool soon, and I just want to be prepared for life after it. I know the old saying, have no regrets, but lets face it, there's always something in our life that we ask ourselves;
"What if?"

So I'm asking you;
How is life after High school?
Did/didn't you achieve your goals?
What Were your goals? and what Are your goals?
Things that you ask, What If?

... Life isn't always cherries and cakes, Please don't sugar coat the answers.

i had to come out of retirement on yahoo answeres to answer this

firstly i achieved my grades but not my goals in high school , high school felt like a jail cell to me with all the teachers like detension - homework not done , and always freeking on me . to me it all seemed so imature and pathetic at the time and same with the other people like playing up to their mates trying to be cool and all that - just caring about who is the best dressed and who is the best sex seemed to be all evryone ever cared about at high school

i just thort whilst at high school dont worry evrything will be better after high school - anyways i left in 2005/6

and believe me all the pathetic stuff you hated at high school really never changes - HIGHSCHOOL IS JUST THE BEGINING !!! the sooner you realise that the better !

and take my advice if you dont like high school DO NOT go to collage thats my biggest regret - dont let anyone tell you collage is nothing like high school because collage is EXACTLY like high school - you feel like an over grown kid who is still getting told what to do - not plesent after you thort all that was over after you left high school believe me!!!

i left high school and went to collage - i then couldent stand collage and left collage after 4 month and that is the best choice i ever made i now have a good job which - i urn money and enough money at that so i can live my live the way i choose which is what i want to do - the way i want to be !!!

i will post a link to a song which has more truth in the words than most people will ever realize but i sware this song sums up life after high school

its called - bowling for soup - highschool never ends

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2783143186104779088&q=bowling+for+soup+highschool+never+ends&total=102&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0

highschool never ends unless you end it!!!!!!!

good luck

Life after High School is OK, more fun in college, so...GO TO COLLEGE! j/k. But yeah, there are alot of things i regret, like the people i hurt, skipping school too much, and not doing everything i wanted to do. If there is anything you want to get done, then do it, don't hold back! You probably won't see 90% of those people ever again! Live your life and be happy :) Don't waste a minute of it because i GUARANTEE on graduation day, when everyone is leaving the ceremony, you will already miss it. All of those "i can't WAIT to get out of this SH:T HOLE" feelings will be gone and you will wanna go back. Maybe even not right away, but you will in a couple of months for sure. Oh, and if you get grounded for something stupid, break the rules. Sneak out. Do whatever you want to do, because whatever it is, you and your parents will just look back and laugh about it later in life.

HS was one of the best times in life for me I always think about old friends, teachers, playing football mainly the girls but today I wish that I could of hung out with the nerds maybe I could be a Doctor or Lawyer I wish that I would have paid the girls less attention maybe I wouldn't have 3 kids by 3 different women. Not trying to rain on your parade but once you graduate life picks up speed so fast next thing you know you are wearing diapers again...lol....Try to have a balance 50% fun 50% hard work make a concess effort to get all A's it will help you in the long run find a mentor (a possative teacher to befriend) My goal during hs proffesional football I never even played in collage didnt want to go I was having to much fun hangging out my 2nd goal to be my own boss after 10 yrs driving that brown truck for UPS (the man) I have my own home improvement bussines. What if I would have taken football serious I was the most valuble player yhh what if not a good feeling so I say that to say leave it all on the table....

I went to an incredibly tiny high school (my graduating class had 10 people), so life after high school was a wonder of ever expanding possibilities. (I left home about that time too)
My goals have changed many times over the years. Some of them I achieved, some I did not, some I found out I didn't want (or need) anymore. Life is what happens while YOU are making plans! Never put it on endless hold ("I'll start living my life after...") Or "I'll be happy after I...".
Don't waste a lot of time on "what if". The things that you do make you the person that you are. If you are happy with the person you are becoming...you should be happy with your choices. If your not happy with yourself start making different choices, jump out of your rut!
During the bad parts (and there will be some) put your head down and soldier on. "This too shall pass" (although it doesn't hurt to try and shove it out of the way!)
Best advice I ever got : "Try it! You might be good at it!","Life is a buffet, use a large plate and take BIG bites!" and "Be careful what you ask for (desire), you just might get it."
P.S. If you want to hear God (the gods, Buddha, whom ever) laugh, tell him (her) your plans!
Life is an adventure! (everybody else is learning how to live it as they go along too) ;-))
Keep your sense of humor!!!(and SMILE! It doesn't cost extra)

You basically spend the rest of your life wishing you were back in school.

I didn't achieve the goals I had in high school, but my goals changed as I grew older. Things don't always work out like you plan and sometimes you will find that what you wanted more than anything really sucks.

I do have a happy life, it's just nothing like I ever imagined it would be.

I think it depends on your plans, what type of family support you have, if you'll have help paying for further education, there are a ton of factors that come into play regarding life after high school.

For me, I left an unstable family environment and went out to live on my own, meaning I worked full-time jobs that I hated just to keep a roof over my head and food in my belly.

So many of my goals have gone unattained, but I'm still striving, and I hope to be going back to school as soon as I can afford to, which is difficult, because I need to be able to pay for school and living expenses at the same time, so I'm slowly saving as much as I can so that it will be as easy as possible, but it's never easy.

Things as simple as laundry, and dishes, and transportation become huge costs, and tasks when you're facing them on your own, as well as managing your money, which is a tough thing to do, especially when all your friends are still living at home and able to spend their money however they so please.

While I regret nothing, I do think this would have been a whole lot easier if staying at home and having my parents help in paying for my education had of been an option for me.

It's what you make it.
You have all your future ahead of you, enjoy it. My advice:
1) Don't get married till 30 or later.
2) never let anyone tell you how life is or what to do unless they pay you for it.
3)Party, just remeber as high as you go coming down is just around the corner.
4)Go live all those crazy dreams while you're young. When your old you can do it then but you'll need a wheelchair and your food pureed.
5)ALWAYS use a condom. I don't care what she says.
6 the reigns of your life are in your hands, never let anyone tell you different.

HS is nothing compared to the life ahead. This is when you have to be responsible for yourself because now you are an adult and no one is going to baby you anymore. But on a lighter note, I wouldn't go back to HS if you paid me! Yes it was fun and I had some great times, but everything that happens after is even greater. I finished college, got a job, made new friends, met a wonderful man, got married and we are starting a family. Nothing compares to that.
