because this section brings together people from all walks of life..some well educated, some not. That is the wonderful thing about it. People are answering questions here from all over the world, so often English is not their first language.
Does it really matter if you generally understand what they mean? By the way... your sentence should have read
* ...don't know the difference BETWEEN 'women' and 'woman'
...but I answered it anyway.. :)

I do know about it but it's like sometimes I don't realize that I've mistaken the word while writing...even when I'm speaking..
I also sometimes confused between the word 'men and 'man'..
so have to be careful next time..
Thanks for the reminder and this is not a silly question..^_^

I've noticed that too. A lot of people don't understand how to structure a sentence. And if "women" is used in the question, then they think that "women" instead of "woman" should be used in their answer. So no, it isn't a silly question, and I wasn't offended! á¦â¥á¦â¥á¦

It could have been a typo, or the people could have been in a hurry to type their answers, and didn't read the answers to make a correction. I have been guilty of it, also. And I do know the difference.

Could it be that the nice people who live on Y!A are the product of an inferior educational system?
Or they are currently apathetic in regards to their use of the Queens English.
Maybe, they are being lazy or.... (finally drum roll please)....
"Frankly, I don't give a damn, Margaret."
something like that, close enough lol

maybe it's because spell check can''t differentiate between the two.
I think i should like to Write "Womyn" from now on,
just to be difficult and contrary.

Well i don't do that very often, so i don't know.
Probably because it's kind of sounds the same. And people get mix up with it.

Maybe it's just you. But I'm so proud of you that you're so informed now. So, When did you learn the difference?
Keep in mind that a lot of people here use English as a 2nd language and are trying hard to follow our rules and express themselves in a language that they aren't experts in. It doesn't help that some of us Americans who are suppose to be experts in the English language mangle it ourselves.
Hey Sunshine, nice eye!
