You are entering upon the grounds of higher metaphysics here - and yes, it's surely an ideal situation which works well between compatible people under the right conditions. You are of course thinking of the Platonic philosophy of ideal forms? What a fascinating question!

Plato's philosophy is often called idealism due to his theory of ideas: There is a world of ideas which is a world of unchanging and absolute truth - the world that we consider to be "the real" is just a pale reflection of those pure ideas - the physical world around us is not real, so whenever we grasp an idea, or see something with our mind's eye, we are using our mind to conceive of something in the ideal world.
Find Plato's Allegory of the cave to see how Plato is saying that humans are all prisoners and that the tangible world is our cave. The things which we perceive as real are actually just shadows on a wall.

Platonic.
The word has two seperate meanings.
One for women and one for men.
For women, the word platonic is used to describle a friendly and/or personal relationship between a man and a woman who are not having sex.
For a man, the word platonic means a friendly and/or personal relationship between a man and a woman who are not having sex............YET!

Idealism usually has a wrong connotation of being impractical and in this case it fits.In this case,I'd have to say that Plato made absolutely no sense at all.
