Statistically, most women ovulate at or around cycle day 14. Take a couple days on either side of that to account for error and it is known the egg lives up to 48 hours (another 2 days). Again, statistically, you are most fertile at cycle day 12-18. You are less fertile at other times.

Five days before your period is due should be ~cycle day 23. It is 'safer' to have sex on cycle day 23 than cycle day 14, but as many other posters have pointed out, IT IS POSSIBLE to get PREGNANT on ANY day of your cycle if you aren't protected.

Remember that 2 healthy adults have a 25-35% percent chance of conception in a month using no protection!

If I didn't want to be pregnant, I wouldn't have unprotected sex at all (condoms/pills/etc.).

good luck!

There is no such thing as a safe day during a woman's cycle. Women can get pregnant at any point of her cycle, including during her period. Use a condom every time, the entire time.

If you mean is it safe as in you won't get pregnant, there's no time that can be given to tell you that. Some women even get pregnant on their period. It depends when your body decides to ovulate.

Everybodys cycle is different, if you aren't sure you shouldn't be having sex or you should be using multiple forms of protection. I track my cycle every month so I know what is going on with my own body.

Safe? I'm guessing you mean to prevent pregnancy. You are more likely to get pregnant at that time of the month. But you should use birth control at all times!!
