open outlook express and go to tool, then options, then choose the security tab, take the tick out of "Block images and other external content in HTML email"

also take the tick out of "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened" to be able to open attachemnts in email (make sure you have free virus protection installed) http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-products/us/frt/0?prd=aff

The web can be a nasty place these days .. and with over 90% of all eMail containing spam / viruses, in my view, anyone who uses MS Outlook (itself very well know virus propagation software) and then turns off the extremely limited functions that are providing at least some basic tiny bit of protection gets everything the deserve ...

PS I suggest you set a 'system restore point' .. it will help you later when you come to remove the viruses you will soon be catching ...

There's usually a button or link near the top of the message which will allow images. Or add the sender to your 'safe senders list'
