I think we need a severe winter to thin them out a bit. What do you think?

Couldn't agree more there are far too many oldies now. All these centenarians are a real pain! But then when I was 20 I thought people my age were old farts!

The only constant is change....hold on for another 30 years and most of the elders you know or are related to will be gone like most of the elders I knew 30 years ago have gone on.

The herd is certainly thinned by age and we are certainly living longer than our grandparents did. The only problem with herd thinning is that our elder generation (I'm included) have the power to wage war and kill off the ones with the most promise....our young. If you haven't noticed OLD George is doing just that....thinning the herd.

You just keep your head down and make sure you don't get caught up in Bush's War and someday my boy you too will become one of us elders and from your arm chair you can watch while the young in the herd get thinned out.

I don't think anybody has understood your question in it's correct demographic perspective and that may include you as well, by at least default (for not framing it properly).Whole of Europe and America as well as many other countries have a large number of aging/aged populations mainly due to increased life span and reduced fertility rate,as compared to a generation back or say.20-25 years ago. This has already placed sever strains on their economies and is posing many other associated problems.Having braved many dozens of Winters, natural calamities, epidemics, wars and you name it. good old OLDIES can't be got rid off so easily. The only scheme which may work is'Volunteerism'.Remember OLDIES are great volunteers by nature.

Being middle aged I think there are too many young people about, but then there need to be more so they can pay their taxes to help support me when I'm old. And the young ones think life's hard for them!

I assure you it is not the elderly people in this society that need to be killed off. Most older people I meet have old fashioned values like decency, respect and contribute to society. A lot of the youngsters are spoilt, selfish useless piles of poo.
Get rid of the youngsters I say.

Thats the trouble,i agree with you .All the young pillocks, that are making constant mistakes, and having problematic love lifes, do tend to grow up and become older and wiser.I think voluntary euthanasia should solve the problem.

Looks like you won't get to live very long. You already feel "old" ... bitter and sour ...rotten like if you have lived a thousand years.
