Perpetual war, with no money to fund it and previous debts looming like an albatross on the prow of the boat. A life with no taxes, yet expecting roads to be built, governments to function, the mail to be delivered, the military to protect them. A world free of sex, except in the sanctuary of marriage, yet Single Mom families are more prevalent in Red States than in the "Liberal" States. The Poor dependent upon charitable help, with charities begging for money and going broke. Health care available for the prosperous, with poorer people going without medical care. Huge fines for cursing or sexual escapades on national television, but no accountability for their Congressional leaders who have proven to be corrupt, with indictments flying like flocks of sparrows in the fall.

Are Republicans living in a Dream World, with common sense taking a back seat to personal greed? Do they want a country where the Poor are dying on streetcorners, while the Wealthy thrive?

The "distorted dreams" as you put it here, are they not examples of what? the persons who have the gusto to dream, big, out of the boxes, are the ones who make it big, wealthy, and help the others, the poor, in my own estimation, they dare to dream, and so far persons like Donald Trump, and Mitt Romney have both succeeded, how about Henry Ford, Oprah, & the *Rockefeller's? They too, had distorted dreams? Last time I heard, (and it's only been now a week or 10 days, the Democrats were begging the Republicans for a meet, so they could help out, and reveal the secrets they have for the *economy, *deficit, *national security and *joblessness. Sorry but I see it all quite different, actually proud to say from an analytical angle, myself. Crying? the only whining I've noticed/heard so far; *each time I put on the TV, is the Democrats, *begging for *help now. asking for a meeting with Romney, as also *of course along with *threats at all of us, (out here in middle class) *if they don't do it his way; *why are they putting the opposition party on the spot now? You call that a winner? They claimed they had the *best changes to work out, (did they not), "vote for me, Obama said, I will deliver!!!" Did he mean "viva la" through the Romany *technique, plans & secrets? Looks like it to me!

The Republican Party platform is for limited govn't and a conservative spending agenda, lower taxes, strong military, right to life (especially those with no voice), traditional family values, etc. Unfortunately, many Republicans in Congress and the Senate forgot those principles after being elected and are now only interested in keeping power.

As for the Democrats, they're now so far off the left wing cliff that their own vice-presidential nominee in 2000 is not liberal enough to be backed by the party in his last Senate bid. I think that pretty much sums up the dismal state of the Democratic Party.

So I guess they both kind of live in a dream world in which their own agenda is their version of reality. However, the Republicans are far closer to the real world.

Well let's consider the Democrat's dream world as an alternative.

No more wars... we'll just let the terrorists, communists, facsists, and other evil dictators run amok and kill all the Americans and innocent people they want to. We can have endless peace talks and tell the terrorists that we're compassionate and undertand their cause and apologize for making them terrorists in the first place.

Lots of taxes... we can ignore the fact that tax revenues increase with lower tax rates. Instead of letting citizens spend their money as they choose, the govt can take it and spend it how it chooses. They can spend it establishing a massive federal government machine and on nationalized healthcare, agriculture and industry (hmmmm.... sounds a lot like socialism to me).

Absolutely no moral standards... we can let everyone do whatever they want, whenever they want to because "if it makes you feel good, then do it." We won't have to worry about how it may affect others because the world is all about me me me and screw anyone who gets in my way. We can continue the slaughter of millions of unborn human beings because it's the woman's "choice." We can totally abolish all media standards as well. Our children can soak in all the sex, violence and profanity that their little hearts desire.

Sounds like the dream world I want to live in.

Its more like a waking nightmare. On the face of it, I can't see how anyone can support of defend what the Bush administration has been doing these past two administrations. Its obvious they have no respect for the rule of law or the Constitution. Based on what we have experienced over the past 6 years, the Republican dream world more closely resembles George Orwells 1984.

Some do...any person that follows the party line, dem, or repub, live in a dream world. Hard right wingers and left wingers don't use their own head when forming an opinion. It's easier to be intellectually lazy and believe blindly when it comes to politics.

Best to use our own heads and do our own due diligence when it comes time to choose what to believe. I can't trust the information provided by ANY special interest group or party. They information is tilted to obtain their own objectives so it's no good to me.

I believe the Republicans do live in a dream world.. but then so do the Democrats. So makes no different as both dream a big dream.. now if someone would try to do something good for America.

We as Americans must do something about NOT allowing any personal profit to anyone serving and working in the government. NO lobbyist allowed anywhere near D.C. No bills passed in the dead of night. Bills to be passed must be straightforward and no benefits added to them. We have a government working for themselves and not the people, if only we could fire everyone of them. Government reform, election reform NOW

Yea, I always thought that if only the richer blue states just gave their fair share the red states would see how better off they would be.

Clearly the blue states are greedy and are just not providing enough to help the red states.

Yes, the blue states are giving more now, but it's just not enough. The countries wealth clearly is with the blue states.

Once more blue money is pumped into the red states, then the red states have a chance to escape the rampant poverty that keeps them voting for morons like Bush.
