My rabbit is about a year and a half old and loves to eat now the winters coming i put straw in his hutch to help keep him warm but he justs eats it! I don't want him to get fat but i want him to stay warm what do i do????

(my rabbit does get feed regualy he is not under feed)

Try another form of bedding. Check with your local pet store, and see what they recommend.

There are other bedding products you can use including cedar shavings and recycled newspaper products. Have you asked your vet ?? On the back of all bedding products it gives a list of the animals that can use it. Straw is economical though and with winter coming on I think a few extra pounds are necessary for insulation. My rabbit always fattened up in the fall for self preservation and slimmed down again in the spring.

Try different bedding
* Cotton wool,
* Newspaper
Or both and straw
because he will come ill and then he would know what happens and learn
Maybe put MORE food in his hutch because he prob do that because hes hungry
Or in winter get another little hutch and put him inside? somewhere not as quite as socialble

If he is eating the straw he will keep warm, just by the energy it is producing

dont listen to the first one thats just cruel you might wanna consider putting a blanket in the cage and leave some straw in to eat. dont worry
