ok so my son has had cereal in his bottle since he was about 3-4 weeks old because of acid reflux. hes now almost 4 months old and i wanted to take the cereal out just to see how he would do without it, because any of you that have to add cereal to every bottle know how much of a hassle it is. so anyway i thought he would be eating quite a bit more since he didn't have that cereal, but hes actually eating much less. why could this be?

His doctor will tell you. Ask him.

Doesn't like the flavor. My guy gets two bottles a day with rice cereal in them (this is to help keep his feedings spaced out so he's not eating every hour!) and he always eats way more when it's his cereal bottle because he loves the flavor.

Give him time, he'll get used to it. If my guy is hungry and it's just a normal formula bottle, he'll eat it. If he's not that hungry he'll just play with it.

Could be because his reflux has settled down? Or he is just adjusting to the different texture and heaviness in his belly. If it is heaps less then go and see your Doc, but he may just be having a non-hungry day and will pick up again soon. No baby eats the same amount at every feeding and every day.

He probably doesn't like the flavor. He is used-to getting cereal in his bottle, he acquired a taste for it.
