I ordered one, my brother already has the other one, other than that our rigs are similar who will come out on top?

The higher clocked Athlon will do better.

The AM2 socket Opterons are really just slightly overpriced processors (pretty much the same as the Athlon 64 anyway) aimed at those who for some reason think a server processor is needed in a server but who actually don't need the extra power over a standard processor (i.e. managers who insist on an Opteron or Xeon no matter what).

i'm in the united kingdom, yet i offered a AMD Phenom II 955 x4 Black version. 3.2ghz inventory speed for £a hundred and eighty which interprets to $291.40 six at todays replace fee. You wont get one with a inventory speed of three.0ghz for under $a hundred. sorry.

I'd chose the 1st! But that's just me! If you are not in a hurry, then... wait a few months until AMD launches its 4 core chips :D
