I would like to see the end of murder so capital punishment would no longer be an issue.

You have asked an excellent question, one that is both timely and provocative.
Capital punishment has been banned in most western countries such as England, Australia,Belgium, Holland, Norway,Portugal,Germany, Italy and 20 other countries.
But the death penalty still exists in China, the U.S.A, Libya,Bahamas, India, Japan and Egypt.
Those against is say that the death penalty is JUST AS CRUEL as the crime which was committed.
Those for it say that the MURDER rate decreases in places where the death penalty exists. An example is TEXAS where they abolished the death penalty for 6 years during which murder increased 141 % ! When it was re-instated the murder rate went down 40%. The reason, experts say is that the criminal, knowing he/she was not going to die, if caught, says to himself.herself " I'll kill this person and I'll never be killed for it".
In France, where the GUILLIOTINE was recently brought back, one victim's mother said, after her daughter's murderer's head was cut off, " At least that man will never grab a young child, rape her, kill her and stuff her body in a sewer again".
Members of this forum will express their opinions on this interesting question and I will look forward to reading them
Thanks for asking it. Ron

Yes because there are people so evil that they commit crimes particularly murder in such a heinous way that they should be put to death. Truly evil people are not beneficial to society.
My example would be "tiny" from Florida. He had a botched execution which you can see the gruesome pic's on the web. When you research just how he killed a family including little children, then you will see that even his botched execution was what he deserved.

WITHOUT A DOUBT.
You hear people say the death penalty is not a deterrent..but if the person is no longer around he/she cannot commit the crime again ....and it is true the states that have this in force have lower crime rates..
It was never rescinded in the Bible.
An eye for and eye...
thanks for asking an important question..A star for you.

It should be continued and at a faster rate. No longer than 1 year from date of sentence would be more humane for the guilty and for the victims families.

In the US, yes. Timothy McVey is a good example of the ultimate punishment for the ultimate crime.
