Any shop can do maintenance like oil changes and it won't void the warranty as long as factory recommended oils and filters are used but keep records and receipts. The window washers should be covered under warranty and fixed for free but only at a dealer. Most dealers have a shuttle service to take you home or to work/shopping while the car is in the shop.

You can have the service work carried out at your local garage with no worries about the warranty, however if the windscreen washer needs to be repaired or replaced it will need to go into the VW garage.

First I would see if the work is covered under warranty at the VW dealer. Also, you should scan through the recall and service bulletin titles to see what else you might get fixed under warranty at the dealer. There is an advantage in getting the engine oil and filter as well as transmission service at the dealer during the powertrain warranty period so that there's no question that the engine and transmission are covered if they fail under warranty. Do you really want that pink quick lube oil filter on your engine when it fails and you have to bring it in to the dealer to prove it's the manufacturer's fault and not the cheap oil and oil filter's fault??

You can get it serviced anywhere.. You can never service it and warranty will still be ok. (as long as lack of service did not cause fault).
however if full vw service history, VW may cover % of cost after warranty expired. (goodwill)

No, I think the rules have changed, you can take vehicles to independent garages for repair under warranty, I'd check if I was you!

IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A VEHICLE MANUFACTURER TO VOID ANY WARRANTIES BECAUSE THE MAINTENANCE WAS NOT PREFORMED AT ONE OF THEIR FACILITIES.
