If your husbands working simply to earn enough to pay your mortgage, you are making a mistake by having a child. First of all you don't know if you will simply have "one" child, I had twins, it happens. Secondly you are living beyond your means, so what happens if he dies or leaves you? Working from home is an impossibility for most new moms, and really unless you have a profession, there isn't really a good way to work from home where you actually stay home.

I suggest you sell your house and get into one that is less expensive. Big house or kids, you choose.

we were in the same position 10 years ago, but we had our first bubs at 33, and guess what, it all came good. I'm sure you guys will be the same if the support for the life use are looking for with each other is true. PS, dont worry to often because at the end of the day not to many people really, truly care.

Having a baby is very COSTLY, if you are barely making end meet now. You can't really afford to have a baby. However, you don't have to quit your job to have a baby, you can get child care.

You can also cut back on some of the luxuries to save money. You won't be able to enjoy a lot of them with a small baby in the house any way.

If you really want a family then I suggest that you and your husband start looking for a better job and come up with a plan to save money so that you guys can have a family and downsize live within your means, sell that house and get a less expensive one!

So don't stop working. Go on maternity leave and when you need to come back. There's nothing wrong with that and when you're child is old enough, having a working mother will set a good example.
