I always thought I was reasonably well educated, fairly bright and with a wealth of experience to share with others after spending 62 years on this planet.
How wrong I was! I have just scoured loads of categories (I am on hols after all) to try and be helpful and informative and I cannot come up with anything halfway useful to say! Am I just having a 'Senior Moment' or am I as useless and brain dead as I feel?

Susie you are not suffering from anything that is not common to the rest of us. Don't let it bother you. It is not a melt down. Just call it holiday head, and be glad you have an excuse. The majority of us call them anything from brain farts to senior moments.

"There's no such thing as perfect, just varying degrees of almost." It was in the middle of a really good story I once read, and it was during an angsty sad moment that one of the characters said it. I cried. Other quotes I like: You asked me, "Whose life is more important, mine or yours?" I said mine. You walked away, not knowing that you are my life. One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching. Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back. It only means you are two steps ahead. Anyone who thinks sunshine is pure happiness has never danced in the rain. If the world didn't suck, we'd fall off. Today is a gift, that's why it's called present. I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me. The quality of life is not measured by the amount of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away. A smile is a curve that sets everything straight. Love isn't what makes the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile. Experience is a hard teacher; she gives the test first and the lesson afterward. Words are heavy things, they weigh you down. If birds talked, they couldn't fly. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world. You can be sad that roses have thorns or you can be happy that thorns have roses. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Just because you make a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake. If life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life you have a thousand reasons to smile. Don't take life too seriously, nobody gets out alive anyways. Reach for the stars, even if you have to stand on a cactus. Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times. Change your thoughts and change your world. Be the change you want to see in the world. Happiness itself does not stay-only moments of happiness do. In order to change we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired. A chain is as strong as its weakest link. A broken heart is like a broken mirror: it is better to leave it broken than hurt yourself trying to fix it. Only God can judge me. Anyone who thinks sunshine is pure happiness has never danced in the rain. If life gives you lemons, stuff them in your bra. If life gives you limes, mix up the letters and turn them into a smile. Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is opportunity. Your work is to discover your work and with all your heart to give yourself to it. Before you can walk in someone else's shoes, you must first remove your own. Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Imagination is one weapon in the war against reality. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I know how you feel. I find a question and no-one has answered it, so I jump on in with what I feel might be useful,by the time I have submitted the answer I find there are already about 20 answers ahead of me. (bit like this one)
Then I read all the other witty ones before me and think, perhaps one line would have done. Never mind....
I have just started taking tablets to help your memory, you should try them...they are pretty good, you can buy them at any chemist their called.................oh poo I cant remember!!!!!

No you're fine, I feel the same way sometimes. Then I'll see a question I do know something about and my brain starts working just fine again. The funny thing is sometimes I think I have a great answer, then I submit it and read all the other answers and then wonder what I was thinking. LOL

I have the same problem! I try to answer questions where I think I have something to offer ,but as far as asking questions , my mind goes absolutely blank. Nothing, unless it is a" remember when " question and I think some are getting tired of hearing those. It's like when someone says "don't think of a pink elephant". Think of a question, ahhhhhhhh ?

Perhaps your brain is reminding you 'hey, just a minute, I thought I was on hols'! and pulled the curtains.

I tell myself it's the same syndrome that affects some of us when faced with exams, and nothing to do with age. Well, we can all make up our own excuses can't we!

I was talking on the phone to one of my sons about the Rugby match and I said to him " I've just read in the paper................." then the blank mind syndrome struck and I couldn't for the life of me remember what I had read in the paper. If it only happens on Answers you have got a long way to go.Acceptance is the buzz word.

Because I am new to the site, I am trying to think of good questions, but I am also having a hard time. I will have to wait until I can think of some, which are stimulating and fun.

Maybe it's the quality of the questions. There're only so many times you can answer 'Am I pregnant' or 'How do I download [insert illegal activity here] for free'.

Switch your answers to 'All English' questions. The Aussies and Kiwis should've sent the kids to bed by now.

Oh, and don't forget it's half term in the UK and we're full of kids this week..

Count yourself way ahead of the game..my mind is blank 24/7...so stop complaining and keep on writing. From what I have seen, my postings included, it doesn't take a whole lot of brain power, just chutzpa! Love and peace, Goldwing
