The term WMD is used to put poison gas (which we knew Iraq had at one time because they were used in the Iran Iraq war) in the same category as an atomic bomb which can kill 100,000's of people when dropped on a city. I turn out the Iraq had destroyed the stockpiles of gas weapons years before, but had trouble proving it to weapons inspectors in time available before the invasion. Their unsuccessful nuclear program had been destroyed in the early 90's, and never restarted. Since poison gas weapons are low tech ( they were used in WW I) the capability to build them can not really be destroyed.

No, it was a justification that went south when none were found in Iraq. Hussein did boast of his prowess in developing weapons, and, ignored the treaty he signed following Desert Storm when Iraq invaded Kuwait: Hussein did wish to rule over the mid-east. But, his military was simply not a force strong enough to impose its will on other nations.
America should have practiced patience. Maybe as many as 100,000 Iraqi civilians have paid the price of their ruler being a dictator lusting for power, and, and American administration that over reached...

Doesn't anybody remember the fact that in Iraq an entire city-(men women and children) was killed from "mustard gas". If thats not mass destruction I dont know what is. Just because the crazy f%$# never got a nuke does not mean anything. He had to go.

1. No there was not.
2. Though the Reagan-Bush administration allowed Saddam to acquire WMD to an unlimited extent, Saddam did not do such a thing (to an unlimited extent), because such was not popular in Muslim-based nations. By doing such, he knew, he would be terminating his, his nation's, and administration's existence. We blackball and defame Saddam's good name in an effort to destroy him. We use falsehoods on people we don't like and we (our nation) does not always tell the truth. Mistakes thereby happens and people are deceived by US government lies . . . including Congress! Saddam is an Iraqi attorney. He is a smart man full knowing and NOT violating Iraqi law!
3. Saddam ceased any and all weapons program that his nation had. His government did not violate US Resolutions. If you look carefully, it was the US that made such (false) allegations and got nations at the UN to vote that he, Saddam, did!
We are at fault, we (our nation) are to blame!
Max
FIRST EDIT:
If anyone had WMD, it is our nation! Because of the fact that we lie and murder (done under the color of US and international laws), should WE destroy our WMD and If not why? Would anyone care to answer?
SECOND EDIT:
I really don't like being the good guy in America, because Americans, those who are deceived by our nation's government, can get you killed by a crazy and these people like the one below, who gave me a negative rating, are vindictive and blind to true realities.
I am here posting to help this nation. Should I be killed in America (like JFK and Dr King) by others, who don't like my postings?
The Bible says that man deserves to die and when I see the evils in man, I can begin to appreciate the goodness in God.
My family's mission and company's mission is to bring good government to mainland China and to bring God, the true god, back to China and to my family. Is that so evil a mission and I, now, a condemned man?
In 1990-91, we negotiated the end to the Iraq war and satisfied all of the terms publicly stated by the Bush administration. The war could have ended there as Saddam DID NOT have WMD!
Get hep America and learn about the wrongs and constitutional violations of the Bush administration!

Yes, Saddam used WMDs against his own people. Whether he had any when the United States invaded is still being debated.
