Jimmy Buffet wrote two fiction books that reached Number One - "Tales From Margaritaville" and "Where Is Joe Merchant?"; "A Pirate Looks At Fifty" was Number One on the Non-fiction list.
His fans are called Parrotheads.
There are other authors who had Number One bestsellers in both fiction and non-fiction. They include Hemingway, Steinbeck, Styron, Dr Seuss, Mitch Albom, Irving Wallace.

Was Stephen King's On Writing a #1 bestseller? I'm tempted to think it's him just because he's so bloody prolific, but I don't have any knowledge of his fans having a sobriquet. Well. That's my guess.
