I did not choose my pets: I picked them up from the street, where they were strays.
They would have died of hunger, cold or run over by a car....

Three of my four pets were rescued, the other I bought from out of state. My white cat (Pooters) was my brother's cat before he passed away. My gray and white cat was feral and Diesel (my Pomeranian/Sheltie mix) was barely two months old when a friend asked us to take him and he is one of my best friends. I simply adore this little guy. I have had pets my whole life and have never had a bond as close as the one with him. Dallas, my pure pom, is the only one we chose and he's a daddy's boy.
If I were rich, I'd buy tons of land and build the biggest animal rescue facility in the world!

I am not sure we choose them because of a connection, but i am sure that a connection develops.Once we have them either we '' click '' or not.I used to visit a girl who's dog was simply crazy for me for no apparent reason so i guess there is some chemistry at work?
They become family, how can we not share a connection?

I don't think we choose our pets, they choose us.Especially with cats, you have cats that just don't like you,no matter how good you treat them...you are just not their type of human...lol.But I've had pets(dogs and cats) for as long as I can remember and even though I liked and loved all of them there are some with whom I had a very special relationship with, they loved me,they adored me,and they din't show the same love to anyone else but me,even though my mother was the one taking care of them most of the times. It just happens,it's the same with humans, with some you click instantly and other you can't stand even though they have done you nothing wrong...It's chemistry I guess...

I rescued my cat from a float and it was going to be for one night. That night turned out to be 19 joyful years until she passed away last Jan.
Two of my dogs were unwanted pets by their owners so I adopted them and the third one was adopted by me for my elder dog who lost her puppies at birth and very miserable and longing for her babies.
I think they- or maybe some sort of destiny? - chose me and I am very happy that they did :)
