I am 16 and 22 weeks pregnant. I am getting to the point in my pregnancy where I am sick of refering to my unborn child by pet names and would like to settle on three or four options for names (for both sexes - I may ask the sex at my 24 week ultrasound). I have searched various baby name books and mutliple websites, and have managed to narrow it down to ten names for each sex. However, I have a strong preference for some names and I'm trying to work out which ones sound better with the names Lynn (my mother's name) and Oliver (my father's name). I have decide that my parent's names will become a lasting tribute - I'm orphaned and to me, this legacy has become paramount, especially in ensuring my child has some form of attachment to its grandparents. Anyway, my top ten options are as follows, in order of preference, and I would appreciate any feedback and would like ideas on how to incorporate Lynn and Oliver with the names below:

Girls:
1. Savannah
2. Chelsea (after my best friend, who I live with).
3. Avery
4. Kristin
5. Talitha
6. Talia (Ta-le-ah)
7. Lacey
8. Hannah
9. Jessika (spelling from a close childhood friend)
10. Peyton

Boys:
1. Lachlan
2. Hunter
3. Elijah
4. Keegan
5. Micah
6. Cooper
7. Michael
8. Andrew
9. Jordan
10. Dahvid (Dah-vid, after my best friend's father: he is like a second father to me).

I'm happy with either two names: a first and a middle, or three names, such as a first and two middle names. My surname is Jessop to help you. Thanks!

You can either try and use both your parents names in this childs name, or if you plan to have more children in the future, you could name one of them after the parent not honored with this child.

With girls its easier, as you can use Olive/Olivia to honour your father. With boys its harder to incorporate Lynn, but maybe you could use Nyle, As its similar to Lyn backwards.

Livynnia, an adaptation of Livinia, is a way to combine the two names for a girl (Liv- from Oliver, L..ynn from Lynn, -ia from Olivia)
Or you could have a shorter Livyn, for both sexes.

Nyoli sounds cool to me too (n and y from Lynn, o and i from Oliver, l from both)

Here are combo suggestions-

Kristin-Lynn Olivia Jessop
Kristin Olivia Jessop
Hannah Livynia Jessop
Jessika Livyn Jessop
Talia Lynn Olive Jessop
Talia Nyoli Jessop

Elijah Nyle Oliver Jessop
Lachlyn Oliver Jessop
Andrew Livyn Jessop
Elijah Nyoli Jessop
Andrew Nyoli Jessop

Why not just name the baby using just your parents two names - Oliver Lynn OR Lynn Oliver if a boy and Olivia Lynn if a girl. Lynn is a gender neutral name so it can be used for a boy or a girl. My fathers middle name is lynn and mine is as well. Yeah I was named after my dad - big smile.

By changing the er in oliver to ia you are still keeping your father in their and just femanizing the name for use.

Anyway I their names make a great combo alone like that but if you want to add other names into the mix, let me think awhile and will post back :)

Savannah Lynn is a beautiful name for a girl.

Chelsea Lynn would be my second favorite name but if your best friends first name is Chelsea I wouldn't name her that. If it is her middle name then that would be fine.

And I definitely don't think Jessika goes good with the last name Jessop.

I like the names Hunter, Elijah, Cooper, and Jordan. But with Oliver as a middle name I prefer Jordan Oliver.

Good luck and congratulations.

Isn't Peyton a boys' name?

I would use Oliver-Lynn as a single hyphenated middle name rather than making up some weird smashed together version. It's sufficiently unusual that I think it's obvious that it's a special family name, and it will be more of a tribute that way.

You have some very pretty names there.
Girls:
1. Savannah is lovely but doesn't really go with Lynn in my mind. It could, but not as well as a lot of the other names.

2. Chelsea Lynn is a beautiful name and it has a lot of personal significance to you. I think thast it is very cute sounding.

3. Avery Lynn is a great name. Avery is cool and unisex, but certainly becoming more feminine all the time. I like the sound of Avery Lynn a lot. It has good rhythm.

4. Kristin is a pretty name, but Kristin Lynn sounds too sing-songy.

5. Talitha Lynn works, but I don't really like this name.

6. Talia Lynn is absolutely breathtaking. I love it. This is a gorgeous name. Talia means dew from heaven, which I think it s gorgeous meaning. And it goes so well with Lynn. Plus the name is classic soundng, yet pretty unique. It is probably my favorite so far!

7. Lacey Lynn sounds silly to me.

8. Hannah Lynn is also gorgeous. I love the name Hannah. It means grace, and combined with Lynn is a classic and beautiful name that I think is one of the pretttiest I've ever heard. This name is amazing! I love it.

9. Jessika Lynn is a nice name. This name can compete with Talia and Hannah, and I really like that it has special significance to you. The rhythm of Jessika Lynn is fabulos. Jessica means wealthy though, and I don't think that that meaning is as nice as either Hannah's or Talia's.

10. Peyton Lynn is very cute, but not beautiful. If you want a cute name, this is a great choice though.

Boys:
1. Lachlan Oliver I like this name a lot, and it is very rare still. It could suit the right child, but it is not one of my favorite names ever. It means "land of lakes" which is just an ok meaning by my standards. It's nice if you have scottish heritage, otherwise, I would pass.

2. Hunter is a great name, very modern and strong, but it doesn't go with Oliver because they both end with "er" and it sounds weird.

3. Elijah Oliver is a fabulos name. I really really love it. If you are religious, then this name is perfect! Elijah means the Lord is my God. It sounds so good with Oliver because of the repeated L sounds and i sounds. This name is really good, and I think you should strongly consider it!

4. Keegan Oliver If you prefer a more modern and trendy name, go with Keegan. It means son of a little fire and it is very cool. It goes well with Oliver. I like this name a lot, but I wouldn't realy conside rit a classic.

5. Micah Oliver is a great name, but to me Micah sounds a little too feminine in this day and age of names switching genders because it ends with "ah" it sounds nice with Oliver, but not half as nice as Keegan or Elijah.

6. Cooper is a great name, but the "er" ending doesn't sound right with Oliver.

7. Michael Oliver is a gorgeous name. Michael is a classic and I really love it. it means "Who is like God?" and it combines really well with Oliver. It's up there with Elijah for me!

8. Andrew Oliver is another classic name which compliments Oliver really well. My only problem with it is that it only means "manly" which isn't that deep a meaning to me. I love the sound however, and if you don't really care about meanings, then this could be the winner!

9. Jordan Oliver is a great name, however Jordan is quickly becoming a girls name. However, it is still a boys name too and the O sounds together make this a very strong name. I love it!

10. Dahvid Oliver is a wonderful name. Dahvid means beloved and I think that that is a wonderful name for a child. Plus this name has personal significance. I think that it is wonderful and the repeated V sounds make this name a winner!

Good luck finding the perfect name!

Overall faves:

Elijah Oliver, Michael Oliver or Dahvid Oliver
and
Talia Lynn, Hannah Lynn, or Jessika Lynn

What about Elijah or Hannah? They are both Bible names.

ps
if you want to combine both your parents names, why not:

Olivia Lynn
and
Lyndon Oliver?

I love the all of the girls names with Lynn as a hyphenate.

ie Savannah-Lynn

then you still have room for a middle name.

Dahvid Oliver might be my favorite for the boys.

good luck!
