I wanna make a trip crossing some various states.
Most of the time I got a place to stay.
But not in Nevada & north Arizona.
Because it will be for one night on each spot, I was wandering ..
can't you sleep out in your car ?
If so, what's the best place to do it in ?
Or will it be easier to use a campsite ?
PLEASE inform me.
Thanks

A very interesting question. I live in a RV, fulltime and many times, while traveling from point A to point B, I will pull into a WalMart and spend the night. All we do is make sure there's not a sign informing there is no overnight parking allowed, go inside the store and ask permission, park out of the way and leave the parking lot cleaner than we found it. I always wheel the buggys to the store for an hour.

There are areas, near interstates, other than WalMarts, where RVers park, overnight. Pull your car in amongst them and sleep away. Rest stops will be noisey due to semi-trucks parking overnight and running their refridgerator units all night. Most states also don't allow any overnight parking, except semis.

As the above poster said, lock your doors. Also darken your windows, if possible. A sunscreen on the windshield might help.

Drive safe, be careful and enjoy the US.

Most states you visit have "rest areas" every so often where you can pull your vehicke into and sleep, use the bathroom, some even have vending machines with food and drinks...some are even big enough that they have a mini McDonald's and what-not...lock your doors and tune out the noise...we do it all the time...MUCH cheaper than even camping (even camping prices are catching up to motels--don't know why...) You could also post on www.craigslist.org for the places where you don't have a place to stay and see if a local joe is willing to put you up for the night
