do carpenter ants make sounds when eating wood?

or they cant be heard like termites?

Actually both Capenter ants and Termites can be heard. And they make some noises that don't sound like they have any thing to do with insects. In two older houses that I have owned we were kept awake at night by sounds in the walls. Both instances ended up being termites. It sounded like they were bowling it was so loud. The exterminator told me that they can make many different types of sounds.

a few burps thats all lol
everything makes noise when eating guess its depends how hard you listen
