Lol, along with other jargon used on the net, are fairly well accepted. although my usual response to people who type those things are "Hey you were too lazy to type out what you meant so I am too lazy to answer."

It would drive me crazy cause I am always doing it. The reason is because half of the time people get mad on here because they don't realize you are joking unless you do.
