Hi-I moved here to UK approx. 5 years now and I had my own business there with 11 employees. You ask what do Americans think of the Brit soaps, I can say with hand on heart that there are complete lunatics in America who would kill their own granny just to get to the TV so as NOT to miss a single episode of Eastenders!!! I had an employee (ex-I fired him) who said he was sick when I called needing him to come in because we were in a back up jam in getting out orders, and it was REALLY important to the business and he knew it. I had a hunch, and after breaking my back and few other loyal people as well, I decided to drop by and "wish him better" with the 4 other loyal employees, and there he was the little termite sitting watching Eastenders, had polished off a 6-pk of Budweisers, and had pizza boxes on both sides of his sorry butt-Now his expression would have made a great YouTube!
Have a great day!-Cheers

I've heard of Eastenders and Coronation Street but have never seen them. We don't have satellite so I am unable to watch BBC America.
Many, many years ago, the lead singer of Herman's Hermits, Peter Noone was on Coronation Street. Remember seeing that in his bio.

As far as I know we don't get any of those. The only "Brit" shows I know about are shown on public television on Saturday nights, and I guess they are oldies. These are shows like Are You Being Served?, As Time Goes By, Waiting For God, Vicar of Dibley, Keeping Up Appeances, oh and Red Dwarf. Great shows!

we get the bbc in america channel and they show a lot of British soaps and comedies on PBS. I LOVE the eastenders, although it's been years since I've seen one. British soaps seem more 'real' than American soaps.
'allo 'allo was brilliant comedy. I love it!!!

Eastenders is the best soap ever.
BBC America used to show it, now
it doesn't. :-(
I haven't really checked " Hollyoaks "
out yet.
I'll be glad when " Robin Hood "
comes back on.
I miss seeing Richard Armitage. xxooxx
