I've learned quite a few things from buying vacuums in the recent years.. Buying the most expensive vacuum isn't alway the answer. However, getting a cheapie isn't the best idea as well. I have a Hoover Savvy I received as a Christmas gift about 5 yrs. ago. I LOVE it.. It retails for around $150, I bought the extended warranty which is a MUST HAVE ! So, I have 3 yrs. of extended coverage. Which brings me to my next point. ANY vacuum you buy SHOULD get regular maintance. I mean if you're going to spend the money then every 6-8 months get the vacuum cleaned/checked. It makes a HUGE difference ! Most people just buy a new vacuum when their old one starts "dying" not realizing that maybe all the vacuum needed was a new belt/bag or filter and it would be fine. My mother-in-law and her mother-in-law got refurbished Kirby's as a wedding gift.. They still run today after 66 yrs, because every other year or so they would get them rebuilt/serviced. So, I say whatever vacuum you decide on make sure that there's a repair place close to where you live and that you take advantage of cleaning/repairing your new vacuum. Good luck

Well, that's difficult to answer. In the future, add more detail to your own question, such as what job this vaccuum is to be doing on a daily basis. For instance, if you just wanted to clean your house every few days or so, you might need a simple $100+ Dyson, or Hoover. Now, if you had more ground in dirt, or plenty of pets to add to the grime factor, you might opt for a more powerful, pricier model, such as a Kirby--which is my favorite-- or a more expensive/powerful Dyson. Now if you needed to wash a rug/carpet, even hardwood floors (all of which we, the answerers, have no idea which you have), again you may want to choose a Kirby, which does both regular vaccuums, and "transforms" into a "washer" as well. Dyson also has similar models, as does most brands, but I find Kirby to be the best. Also, Electrolux is up there quality-wise. Kirby is the least bulky of all of them, and easiest to use/assemble. There are so many models to choose from, I find it best that you just visit Kirby's (or whatever model you want) website to choose what's best for your budget and/or particular job/chore.

Good luck!

I actually have a wall ducted system and it is the best thing that I have ever used. Alittle bit dearer than a conventinal vacuum system, but woth every cent. We paid $1200.00 AU and I just love it.

Dyson DC15 is the best. It got four and a half star from Amazon's customers. Read the reviews and you will know why.
