What happened to the history channel? I used to be able to watch it on channel 12 but now there is a channel called "Dave". I have enjoyed all of it's QI repeats etc but was watching the series of "Tenko" on the history channel when it was suddenly replaced by Dave. Has the history channel just been moved?

I have retuned Freeview and now Dave is on channel 19. However the history channel has now disappeared completely. Perhaps there are differences because of the areas we live in?

UKTV which owns both chanels has swapped the 24 hor slot for UKTV History with Dave (if you do a rescan on your box they will still be at the old numbers)

UKTV History now has the slot UKTV Bright Ideas had 7am - 6pm and only runs 24hr on Sky and cable.

Try rescaning the freeview box, as at the moment Dave is on freeview channel 12 the home of UKTV History and UKTV History is on freeview channel 19 which was UKTV Brightideas.
So by rescaning the freeview box UKTV History will go back to channel 12 and Dave will go to channel 19, i hope this will help you.

The Answerers above have given you the correct advice, namely, to retune your Freeview box. As a matter of fact, you might need to do a complete retune anyway since in some areas BBC radio has been relocated to a different part of the digital TV/Radio spectrum. If you check and can't receive the radio channels then it's already happened in your area.

It has been moved, and now only broadcasts on Freeview between 6 in the morning and 6 pm.

Dave has taken it's old 24 hour broadcasting spot.
