They have the skill and potential to go 16-0 but I don't think they care, your right there is a lot of media on the Pats ALL FREAKING YEAR LONG! What was the biggest story during the offseason, Pats signing Randy Moss. What was the biggest story in the first half of the season, the Pats videotape scandal. What's the biggest news currently, Brady possible breaking a lot of records. So I don't think they will go 16-0 unless they want to risk playoff injuries for it.

Agreed.
We see this almost every season. 1 team in particular will start off hot and win 8 or 9 games in a row and the media and fans stating talking and thinking about perfection. Occassionally a team will even take that streak into double digits as the Colts did a few years back. The Broncos did this during their 2nd Super Bowl season and the Bears back in '85. The longer the streak goes, the bigger the frenzie.
The circus will really start after the Colts/Pats game. Whoever comes out victorious, assuming both are undefeateted leading up to the game, will wear the crown of 'undefeated season wanna be's'
The biggest challenge for who ever takes the baton and runs with it will be after a playoff spot and homefield advantage is secured. They will not be playing for anything but an undefeated season and its easy to pull back just a little. Just enough to get caught off guard. But were still weeks away from this scenerio. Lets wait until the Pats or the Colts get to 13-0. That's when the hype machine will kick into full gear.

Well I think since we are talking about a team going 16-0, must mean you can throw that parity crap right out the window. The rest of the league, parity maybe, but New England is not on this planet. And I am not a Pats fan, but I have the Sunday ticket, and have sean every game. It's just plain scary.

I agree with this. If the Patriots do not lose to the Colts (in my mind this will be a very close game), I think they will be extremely vulnerable towards the end of the season. If they make it all the way to week 17 unbeaten, will Belichick play Brady? I tend to think no and believe that the Giants defense would tear apart Matt Cassel and a team of second stringers playing for starters resting until the divisional round of the playoffs. I like Brady and Moss and the team in general, but Belichick is not going to risk the health of his starters in order to be undefeated. He is too smart and knows to value a loss in week 17 and a Super Bowl win over an undefeated record without a Super Bowl win. For these reasons, I think the '72 Dolphins should be popping the champagne once again.

no I totally disagree with you if you had not noticed the Patriots are at the top of their game already most other teams are just now putting it together. like san diego, so no they are going to go undefeated this year and next just to make sure noone else can beat their record. if you notice all the other teams in the league are playing their starters through out the game yet in the third quarter against miami most of the starters for the Pats were sitting on the bench and taking it easy.but please don't feel discouraged 2 years from now the Patriots may let someone else have some glory but for now it is the PATRIOTS ALL THE WAY. and lets see the 72 dolphins go undefeated 2 years in a row the Pats are well on their way to set another record that wont be broke

Im a Pats fan I think 16-0 is highly unlikely, not impossible but extremely unlikely. I do think they will beat the Colts both times and win the superbowl, but I figure they'll lose at least one game during the season.

The Pats won't go 16-0...but not because of the parity...because they will be resting the starters after clinching home field for the playoffs...

The Pats are that good, and barring serious injury, they have a chance of going 16-0.... a better chance than any of you give credit ....
