As far as I understand it he's a politician who just lost his race, and was feeling down in the dumps after losing everything, he must have had someone he loved but forsook her for the election he so longed to win...his buddies come in and start jammin' with him and they revert back to a time when being in love was more important than being in power and forsaking all those people who matter....there ya go thats my two cents.

Often, the artist has no say as to what the video is going to portray. It is really up to the director of the vid. He or she may have this wacked-out vision of what it is the song should be "saying." If the artist has any say, sometimes it's only enough to make them shut up.
