I think one on one counseling would be best. You're in your teen years (I'm guessing) so you'll have stuff going on that you don't necessarily want to share with the rest of your family.

It may be nice if you take your Mum and/or Dad with you to your first few sessions because they counsellor will most likely want a brief history of your life. When I went to counselling they asked my Mum about whether it was an easy/difficult labor, when I first started talking/walking/toilet training etc.

It's also good that you take your parents along with you the first time because this may not be the right counsellor for you. Don't settle with someone who you can't be open with. You need the right person for you.

Good luck and I really hope it helps you.

I would start with one on one counseling. If you've never been in therapy before, starting with your whole family can be kind of awkward. You should do a few sessions on your own so that you can learn to open up some and decide what in your life is causing your anger issues. Then you can decide if you want to start family counseling, or if one one one is going to be enough for you. Good luck!

Since you have anger and family issues I would say family counseling. You will also get one on one with that.

Try a session of each.

I went through a period like that and did the counseling thing. We worked out a schedule of three indiviual sessions with just me and my counselor, and one session with my family each month.

i have counsoling over my anger issues and i perfer it when its one on one rather than my mom and dad in the room and constantly asking questions like :"but why do you feel like you HAVE to do this and that and blah blah blah" Its better to communicate with a proffesional because by then you'll have most of your problems figured out and then you can include your family.

i think one on one is better. because maybe all this problems come from you.. your anger and the other stuff. it's not bad. really. i had some too. u just need to want to "recover" or make things better. i mean believe that this might help you. everything is in your hand :D

whatever makes you more comfortable. if you'd rather be by yourself at first, do so...you can always move up to family counseling when you're ready.

I would recommend one on one, because sometimes it can be a little awkward talking about things you have problems with while your parents are there, but it all depends on how you feel about it.

Do what you think is best for you.

I mean your situation is unique to yourself and I don't think it's up for us to make judgements about issues that are that personal. Or at least it's not up to me.
