Lakers and Kobe will evaluate how they did in the first half of the upcoming season and based only on that will they make a decision of parting ways when the trading deadline comes around in February 21, 2008

Remember last year before Luke Walton and Odom went down they were 26-13 and were 3rd in the Western Conference.

Very small chance that Kobe is gonna be traded this year unless the Lakers are at .500 and out of playoff picture and the team is full of injured players when February rolls around

What Jerry Buss said was he'll let Kobe go only if the Lakers stink it up around the trading deadline and then and only then will he consider trading him

But as of now Kobe is going to be a Laker and will be for the rest of the year

It depends on who the Lakers get in return. But can see why you wouldn't mind seeing him go with all the drama, like him cleaning out his locker. But, Kobe is arguably one of the best and one of the biggest stars in the NBA. I do think what ever team he is on, whether it be the Bulls or the Lakers, Kobe will put up great numbers as always. Even though I despise him, I love to watch him play the game. Jerry Buss said he wanted to rebuild after the Shaq trade. So, I do take Kobe's side a little after they traded Butler, who is an all-star with a huge ball hog on his team, Arenas.
Look on the bright side. I'm a Knicks fan and wouldn't mind seeing that whole team go. Especially, Isiah.

Well i don't know and i don't think no one can answer you at the moment .... Think about if Kobe leaves now, there is no potential at all i the team and if in the trade they do get some potential (which other teams wont agree with in the first place) they cannot make the Lakers go to the playoffs like Kobe can because i don't believe they are gonna get someone in return who is capable of doing so.

I am a Lakers fan too, but I am mostly in favor of the good of the team over one player. Although Kobe is a one-in-a-lifetime player and I love to watch him play, I wouldn't mind trading him for some good young players like Leandro Barbosa or Luol Deng. This Laker squad just aren't that good. They don't have any enthusiam, no purpose, they don't play any defense. They just aren't good to watch. Kobe is selfish for saying all those things and wanting to leave for his own good, but as a Laker fan I kinda feel Kobe because Lakers are only about winning championships and having championship contending teams

The only reason lakers is the worst team of the NBA is Kobe's presence.Ä°f you're gonna send him,you gotta get a couple of players which will help lakers to be a better team.As barbosa said,He's the best basketballer in the world

I am a die hard fan too. So are a bunch of people in my Fam, and lots of my friends! Not one of them would want to see the best player in the world go!! I would be pissed off! What dose off court stuff have to do with how he players. As a Lakers fan you know he is not a ball hog, we just cant get guys to make a shot wen he dose pass it to them. He can score pretty much at will. And he is a great defender. We just need more talent to keep him happy and for him to be at his top potential. Could MJ do it with this team?!?!? Maybe a little better, but no way would he get rings! I like most of the guys on our team, but they are not consistent enough to win big. I would complain too if someone promised me something and backed out. Buss said he would get Kobe the players he would need to get rings and thats all he gave him!!!

FYI Not everyone can be like Magic. He's the MAN! Not even MJ! Off court, on court, as a fan. HE is the best.

If you want to win championship let kobe go, he is the mistake in lakers. Basketball is a team sport , no one should be larger than the team. Kobe is way to big for his team.

You must not be that die hard or you would want the only good player that they hae to stay. He puts non celebrity butts in the seats and let's face it some of them too. Yeah he is a perennial ball hog but so was MJ, not that he is the next MJ but the man did help a lot in winning you 3 banners

I agree I'm a die hard Mavs fan and hate to have Kobe on the squad coz of him screwing up the chemistry. My brothers fav player is Kobe and even he doesnt want Kobe to come to Dallas.
