I can't even begin to immagine what it must be like to be in the spot that you are in. What I do know, is that the friendship that you and your friend have must be an amazing one. Here you are about to go into surgery and you are wanting to make a cd for your friend. I don't think that your friend could have asked to meet a better person than you. I'm praying all goes well with your surgery and that your friend has many more years to spend with you and that many more memories are made.

Candle in the Wind, Elton John. I'm so sorry about your cancer; I had it too and it feels so bad at first but down the road after the surgery you will feel a lot less stress. The anticipation is always worse and for me, the surgery was so much worse than the cancer. When I was in pain after the surgery the doctors and the nurse told me every 24 hours the pain would get less and less and that kept me going; and the fact that my Mom slept in my room. Even the radiation wasn't too bad.

How about some sad & meaningful songs as well as some happier songs that the two of you liked to listen to together so she can remember you as you were? Tell her that if you don't make it that you want her to listen to this tape. You should also record a tape of yourself talking to her about things. That will mean more to her than the music.
How about:
'Arms of the Angel' by Sarah Mclaughlan
'How Can I help you say goodbye' by Patti Loveless
It's good to be realistic, but be positive as well. You can impact how your surgery goes by your outlook. Tell yourself that you will make it through the surgery. I hope to see more questions from you on YA about how you made it through the surgery.

I Believe by: Elvis Presley
I believe for every drop of rain that fall
a flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
a candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come to show the way
I believe, I believe
I believe above a storm the smallest prayer
Can still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word
Every time i hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe

The song "I Believe" by Elvis Presley was one of his greatest hits and one of his favorites when he knew he was going to die and knew where he was going... to His Father in heaven who created him and made him who he was... the legend
God Bless you on your surgery and everything will be fine just call on Jesus...you got a friend here ...me! (smile)

sorry about your cancer. I hope things turn for the better. Your friend must be a good one if you want to make a cd for him/her. One song I can think of is "Wind Beneath my Wings".

I just can't help but express my grief. I assure you that I will pray for your surgery. The thing that's important is to keep God in your heart.
I have the perfect song; 'One in the million you' by Larry Graham. Go to youtube.com and type his name in, and you see and listen to the song. It's a very beautiful song. Please give it a try. God be with you.

hi, what you ask is the most heart breaking question i have ever heard, you know, you have to have hope, and you have to know that you have a strength to get through this, have faith, you know there is this song that i heard, but don't know the name of the singer,
the words are"when i am on a journey don't you weep after me, every little river has to meet with the sea",
but have faith and my prayers are with you, God bless
