Not to reveal too much personal information let me just say that it is my personal policy to always keep about three months expenses in my savings account for contingency purposes. Other savings are in less liquid types of investments such as retirement accounts etc.

given they pay interest on my checking and savings and money market accounts, there would literally have to be a minute to minute calculation and it could vary by a few cents per minute--so no matter what number I gave you, it would probably be wrong by the time you read it.
