Why would this person want to screw up their brain and body?
Nobody can function like that!
What does this friend think he is running from or avoiding dealing with? No... drugs only aggravate any problem.
Besides, hanging out with the people who do drugs only puts you in danger of getting mowed down the next time some gang decides to hit the place.
If things are tough at home, then please talk about it with you! Tell him to use you as a sounding board!
Fact it, all he needs to do is get through school and maybe even start building his resume with some after-school jobs so he can support himself and get out of the house the minute he graduates from high school. You can't do that if you are messed up.

Which drugs? Tell them to only do a little at first and drink lots of water to protect their body. Remind them that you care about them and don't want them to go down the wrong path, but don't judge them either. It's normal to experiment, most teenagers do it. Having good friends who understand them will keep them on the straight and narrow after they see that this really wasn't all it's cracked up to be.

since its your best friend, im sure your opinion really counts for them so tell them exactly how you feel. Even if you're strongly against drugs try to stay calm and let them know that you're always going to be there for them because even if you wanted to, you cant control what they do. Just be there for them because thats all someone really needs. If anything happens, dont tell them "i told you so" because it might just push them away.

encourage her to stear clear of drugs. I know that sounds easier than it is. But tell her that she doesn't have to exeriment with drugs to fit in with people. That those people have a huge chance of going to jail, they could die, they could drop out of school, get raped. So many bad things while taking drugs, not to mention it could kill them. Just tell her the truth and why you don't want her to do it. hope that helps good luck and take care.

Just because it's "normal" to experiment, doesn't make it smart! A person could easily get addicted even if they only try a little, so make sure she doesn't do it! Ask her if there's something wrong at home, school, or everything in general. No one would make such a dumb decision unless there was something bothering them.
