there once was this guy who was falsy accused of murder and got sent to jail,
anyway, his cell mate asked him if he wanted to escape
the guy says yes
his cell mate told them tat there was a funeral being held at the chapel, when its dark grab the keys to the cell and a couple of matches and slip into the coffin, im being let free tomorrow so i will be at the grave site to un bury you
the man said okay and did as he said
he grabed the keys and a packet of matches left the cell and slipped into the coffin without cheaking who the dead man was.
the man could hear thorugh the coffin so he waited untill the priest finihed the mass and when they finished buriying him
anyway he waited and waited and waited...
he couldnt wait anymore and he started to get frightened and then remembered he had the matches.
so he lite one of the matches
and because he forgot about the dead man who was in the coffin with him, the deciided he should cheak
and in the coffin was his cell mate

so the man died with out anyone ever knowing

This is in the movies section, so I suppose I'll list some ghost stories:
The Haunting (original and remake, which isn't as good)
13 Ghosts (original)(I think that the remake is just way too gory and plain nasty)
The Uninvited (original)
The Innocents
Ghost
Beetlejuice
The Lady in White
The Changeling
The Amityville Horror (1979) (The rest aren't very good. At least the first has some solid scares.)
Campfire Tales
Ghostbusters 1 & 2
The Frighteners
Candyman (The first is best.)
Dark Water (The Japanese version is better than the U.S. remake.)
The Fog (The original is better than the remake, which has some good scenes but changes the story.)
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
Ghost Ship
Ghost Story (According to the novel, she isn't a ghost.)
The Gravedancers
Wraiths of Roanoke
The Forgotten One
The Haunted Mansion
High Spirits
Ju-on: The Grudge (Japanese)
Just Like Heaven
The Legend of Hell House
Nomads
The Others
Poltergeist 1-3
The Ring 1 & 2
The Grudge 1 & 2
Route 666
The Shining
The Sixth Sense
Soul Survivors
Stir of Echoes
Below
The Eye 1 & 2 (Chinese)
The Terror (with Jack Nicholson)
What Lies Beneath

I do have genuine ghost stories, but this isn't the section in which to relate them. Maybe these films will help.

true story....

my brother and I along with some of our friends used to go to this "haunted school" in kentucky that flooded and killed all of the kids and teachers bout 60 or 70 years ago...well you go in this one room and you can see finger scratches on the wall and like little handprints where they tried to get out (it was a school where the kids actually lived in the school and it looked like a tornado was coming so the people at the school rushed all of the kids into the basement and it ended up raining so hard and so fast in the storm that it flooded with the kids still in it). We always thought that "ghost hunting" was fun so we went to this place often looking around at 2 am with flashlights and pretending to be scared, well one time we did the whole thing where you hold on to eachother so no one gets lost and you turn off all the flashlights and no one moves, you just be quiet, we'd lay a tape recorder in the middle of the room so you could listen to it later. well we stood there for about a minute when we heard some small footsteps, and then what sounded like very faint laughter of kids, creepiest **** of my life. So everyone freaks out and turns their flashlights back on, everyone is in the same spot they started out in and no one had moved. We pick up the tape recorder to see if it caught the noise and the batteries had been drained, brand new batteries bought at a gas station about 10 minutes before we go to the school.
I've not been back since

On board a WWII battleship museum, I was walking along the deck with my son and a few of his Boy Scout buddies during one of those overnight sleep-overs. They were the first to see it, stopping dead in their tracks to look up in awe. Then, two of the other adult chaperones also saw it.....then I looked up.

I saw the distinct apparation of a Navy sailor, climbing quickly up the mast ladder to the Crow's Nest. The guy was semi-transparent--and he went THROUGH the welded iron grate put over the hatch door to prevent tourists from going up in it!!! About 12 people saw it--inculding one of the ship's volunteer staff--who said THAT ghost is commonly seen. It's believed he's a sailor who died in the Crow's Nest during a shootout against Japan back during the War.

Later that night, I got up to use the restroom (head) and along the dim lit way, I saw a guy leaning just inside a doorway. I was startled to see him standing there. I could see the guy's face and remember his smirky grin. He was dressed in Navy sailor blues with slick combed hair. He stepped back into the dark....and the light snapped on in the room. I ran in there to see this room was EMPTY--with NO other way to exit it!!!

The next morning, I told a volunteer worker what I saw. He didn't know much about the sight, only to say that sailors assigned to duty on the ship during WWII died and their souls walk the decks--and tourists have seen them from time to time.

true story: my cousin slept over her friend's house , this was about 2 yrs ago.. she was brushing her teeth in front of the mirror in the bathroom when she noticed her reflection is a little slower than her... she thought it was her imagination so she called her friend and sure enough her reflection in the mirror is moving slower than her but her friend's reflection is normal... since her friend's a bit religious she suggested for them to start praying , so they did... they started praying Hail Mary, but into the prayer my cousin looked up at her reflection and it started laughing on its own, needless to say they both ran out of the bathroom and they've been trying to convince us that it really happened till this day!

when i was younger, i lived in phoenix az, and my parents were gone for the day, they left the stereo on, and me and a bunch of friends went over to my house to get something. so we walked in, and went to the stereo to shut it off, i shut it off, and then turned to walk away. as we were walkin away, it turned back on and the volume went up all the way. me and my friends turned around, ran to the stereo, shut it off again, and watched the dial move by itself. all my friends, including me, started screaming and yelling. my friends never came back over to my house again. lol
