Honestly Walmart has some really cute Halloween costumes for babies and toddlers going for 14.99.

But if money is tight, then you could dress your babie up Charlie Brown.. black bottoms and yellow shirt.. just do a strip on it.

You could also do a hippie.. simply old jeans, paint some flowers and hippie stuff on it.. put an old t-shirt on your baby.. let him go barefoot.. or if it's cold do socks with sandals.. and then make a hippie headband. If you have patches, iron on some patches onto the jeans.. but keep in mind, patches can add up.. 2 or 3 bucks a piece.. so if you do that, you may as well buy the costume, ya know?

If you have a toddler baseball cap, you could do him as a baseball player.. just any pair of jeans or pants, and baseball like T-shirt... even a white shirt, that you can paint a team logo.. like you could paint a baseball with a baby curly cue hair coming down and eyes and a smile and then write on it.. Toddler Tots Basball.

You could do the scare crow from the wizard of oz.. simply get a farm like shirt, or a long sleeve onsie.. jeans.. shoes.. basically normal clothes, but stuff hay in the sleeves, and out the ankles.. draw or put on a patch on the jeans,.. and then you can take some yellow felt or construction paper and just make a simple cone like hat and glue hay coming out the bottom so it frames your sons face.. and then all you have to do is paint his face like the scare crow from wizard of oz.. which is simple.

If you have some old clothes he's outgrowing.. tear them up a bit.. the sleeves and legs of it .. and then put it on your son, after you paint him green.. he can be the Incredible Hulk.

If you can find a pair of super hero pj's like Spider Man .. then he could wear those, and you could just paint his face.

You could also do the basic clown.. but the hobo type clown.. so again, you could use old ragged clothes (that don't match) get a funny old hat on him.. and paint him up.. and then of course give him a little stick with a bag on it.

If you have a rain coat for him, you could put that on him with rain boots, and just say he's a fisherman.. just give him a fake fish or fishing net to carry around.

If you have dressy church stuff he wears.. put that on him, and then mousse his hair back and you can say he's James Bond.

You could take a shoe box, glue white paper all over it, cut a hole out where the baby's face will be.. and then write on the box.. Missing Boy.. and and he can be the face on the milk carten.

Ohh Better ! Put jeans on him, and a white t-shirt, and black shoes or boots.. and then mouse or gel his hair like Fonzie from Happy Days or Squigy from Laverne and Shirley.. like a 50's greaser basically.. that would be cute and easy.

Anyway, I could go on and on.. but I'll spare you .. but maybe one of those ideas would work for you.

Good luck and Happy Halloween !

Fairly easy. Get a small white pillow case and cut out a couple eye holes. Classic ghost costume. My mom actually has a photo album with a pics of me and one of my sisters when said sister was around two or three and she had on the old pillow case ghost costume in one of the pics. Though for a 1 year old you'll want a smaller pillow case I'd imagine.

I like the cheerleader or 80's look but only if you gross it out a bit. She could do any of those but add a bit of the gruesome to whatever she does and streak red silly string down her hair or long red ribbons or green goop and use red lipstick smudged and topped with gloss or petroleum jelly across her neck to look like it's been severed. Blacken all round her eye sockets but first powder her face so it lightens it up a lot and use the darkest color she has on her nails and streak the cuticles back up the fingers with dark red lipstick or soot so it looks like dried blood. Add some black licorice on one or two of her front teeth or use a pair of vampire teeth if she has them. Top it all off with spots of glitter or grape jelly but not a good idea on the jelly if you have bees in the neighborhood. Off you go!!

Ninja!
All you need is pajamas, a t-shirt (the same color as the pajamas), two tieable rattles and a string. With the rattles and string you can make numbchucks.
Here is how you turn the shirt into a ninja mask.
