I would enjoy the attention for a while. Being an agnostic I don't officially believe in God, so it would be fun to hear from the ol' guy.
Most people who claim to have been spoken to by God genuinely believe it...even if it is obviously a raging case of schizophrenia (you know the kind...they usually wear foil hats). Realistically, I would probably do the same thing. God would eventually tell me to do weird and illegal things that would land me in a psych prison ward.

No mental health help too soon. I'd wait to see what other messages "the voice" had first. I'd contact my family for advice before I get involved with the MH people. (They'd put me on pills I'm sure, and that would ruin my life more than the voice).

No, I wouldn't. God and I have a really cool relationship so he speaks to me all the time. If you really believe in God you don't need a doctor to validate if the voice you heard in your head was real or not. Actually, God speaks to our spirits and our hearts. Not our mind/head.

Well, if I heard something like...."hello, this is God...."
Yeah, I'd think I was crazy.
But if on the other hand, I felt a powerful feeling of love and peace, and God filled me with the knowledge of his presence. No I would not be scared, only He could do that, and I believe in Him.

I would question God first.
"So tell me, if you really are God, what's next weeks lotto numbers?"
If I got anything less than 4 numbers and the powerball I would see a doctor.

this just happened to my mom and she went to the hospital and they sent her to the psych ward, and they have helped her a lot. So yes, if anyone is hearing voices they should go to the doctor

I would assume I had mental problems and seek advice.
Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper, suffered from this particular delusion. Religion has a lot to answer for!

What if GOD told you to go see a therapist?
Do you listen to the crazy voice?

I would want some proof it was God. I would ask for a prediction or something. But it could be a great gift that you could never share. Helluva burden.
