A person I had not seen in years just contacted me a few days ago. I was surprised to see her invite on my myspace page because I abandoned it.

Also found out we're almost neighbors. I live just a few minutes from her house. Weird, indeed.

I have come across many old friends on facebook some I haven't seen in years. I also recently came across someone else unique on facebook, my first real love. A girl named Lorelei who I met at about 15, she was 18 and we spent 3 years together. I haven't heard from her in 14 years or so, but my wife of all people who does weird girl stuff like look up my ex girlfriend on facebook came across an R.I.P. page dedicated to her.

Apparently she went out with friends one night, had too much to drink and went to lay down in the back of her friends car.

Her friend the DD for the night, got drunk anyway, decided it was a good idea to leave her friend sleeping in the back with no seatbelt, ran a red light with cops 30 feet away doing a radar check and then to top it all off decided to run from the cops.

She wrapped the car around a telephone pole killing Lorelei instantly, she was 28 and had 3 kids. She never woke up or had any idea what happened. I am still waiting to hear back from someone else to try to get a few more details.

This happened in 1999 and as I said, I haven't spoken to her in years but it still came as a complete shock.

The driver who ran from the scene of the accident got 18 months probation.

I've been contacted by several friends on Facebook and MySpace years after I have seen or even spoke to them. Several friends that I have not seen since junior high, high school, and even elementary school have contacted me on MySpace and Facebook. It's very interesting to see how much they have (or haven't) changed and to know that they are doing well.

Yes, a couple of months ago I was contacted by an old friend through FaceBook. I hadn't seen him in 9 years. Afterwards, I heard from 3 other old friends because of our over-lapping networks.

That's never happened to me, but I did run into someone in person who recognized me from either Y!A or 360, which was a little disconcerting.

Uh...why does Beano get a hug and not Jack????

Edit: That's better, lol! (((((Darth)))))

Here's one for Beano, even though SHE didn't hug ME! ;)

Whoa... Are you getting wild ideas?

It hasn't happened to me, so I can't shed any light for you except to say that I really don't think there are very many I'd really like to start up with again... LOL. Sometimes old friends are better left as as fond memories of the past than as future problems.

I don't have a myspace page, but that's happened to me on Facebook. It's pretty cool when it happens.

At sites, no. But I had friends finding my address and phone number, years after I last saw them, and after I moved to another city, and calling and sending letters - real letters :)
