He has had impact on me, and I was 12 years old when he died! He left a wealth of writing which many have read. Of course he wrote volumes on his view of WWI and WWII from the highest circles of the British government, but his three volume "History of the English Speaking Peoples" is simply a page turner (rare in history) for its vivid portrayal of world history with a decidedly Anglo bias.
Churchill makes you believe he has all the answers. He also seemed to have had that effect when he gave speeches. He instilled a remarkable confidence in his people at a time when the British were in a most precarious position - early in WWII when the British empire alone was left fighting Germany for one and a half years before America declared war. Even after the U.S. entered WWII, it took almost a year before American troops arrived to begin nibbling at Germany beginning in North Africa. It was not until 1943 and '44 that Americans contributed greatly to the sea and air war against Nazi Germany, yet Churchill inspired the British people to persevere with the same stubborn tenacity he exemplified.
The depths of World War II were his "finest hour".
You won't be able to find much positive impact that Churchill had on other than white English speaking people. He was a pure Anglophile. I doubt he was admired in Africa, India, the Middle East, Burma, Hong Kong, or Singapore by anyone but Englishmen.

Churchill, Sir Winston (1874-1965), became one of the greatest statesmen in world history. Churchill reached the height of his fame as the heroic prime minister of Great Britain during World War II (1939-1945). He offered his people only "blood, toil, tears, and sweat" as they struggled to keep their freedom. Churchill was also a noted speaker, author, painter, soldier, and war reporter

Churchill was known for his eloquence and his ready wit. On being accused of being a turncoat for changing parties twice, Churchill reposted ‘anyone can rat, but it takes a certain ingenuity to re-rat.’ When an official criticised other writers for ending sentences with propositions, Churchill added a note ‘This is the sort of English, up with which I will not put’. On one occasion a lady heckler shouted ‘Sir, you are drunk’. Churchill replied ‘And you, madam are ugly, but I shall be sober, tomorrow!’

he was also renowned for .....'Black dog' was the term Winston Churchill coined for depression - his own depression. The logo of the Black Dog Institute refers to and respects that origin.
A victory sign that, enigmatically, casts the shadow of a black dog provides a metaphor for a disorder that is constantly lurking in the background.
