On one of the sitcoms with MJ Fox his TV Mom told him that "Cursing is a weak mind trying to express itself forcefully". It was something to that effect. My foster Mom use to tell her students at school to get more original because they were using words they had used when they were young. I think cursing is lack of control...why? Because just hit your fingernail with a hammer and watch what happens. Also in some mental conditions the first thing that goes is manners in regards to cursing. You can say "Oh bananas", and that won't offend anyone. lol. It may have been "Cursing is a lazy mind trying to express itself forcefully". Mmm

It would be a good challenge for me too cause I cuss and really dont realize it.I dont cuss to be cussing but some cuss words are used to get an emotion across, its the only way to make people understand how I feel. I tried giving up the word *uck but just sounded silly saying, oh shoot, golly, or geez! it just wasn't working and that is one word that doesn't sound good coming out of anyones mouth but especially a female. I do have it cut down though and dont say it in public. Your question is a good one cause it would be a tough challenge!!!

It would be pretty tough for me. I tend to curse more when I am driving or watching sports. If I could go a whole day without either of those things I think I could do it.

Cussing used to be something I did every time I opened my mouth to talk.
Then when I had my son I relearned the English language and quit using foul language altogether.
It is possible to stop cussing if you really want to especially after you realize what you look like in the eyes of other people for doing it.

ya I could. I probably only cussed less then 5 times in English and 20 times in Korean (I didn't know I was cussing in Korean when I was a kid) my entire life. I'm 14 turning 15 nxt month by the way. If you are a christian believe that God is right next to you listening to everything you say watching everything you do because he technically is. If you aren't you should be a christian and believe that God is right next to you listening to everything you say watching everything you do because he technically is.

Depending on who I'm around I may not WANT to, but I can. Depending on the person, I want to ask, "Can you go a day without being stupid? No, I didn't think so. You know, they're looking for a few good men.......down at Burger King!"

No. I am surrounded by idiots. Cursing them under my breath is the only way to vent spleen.

I rarely use vulgarity. Years ago someone pointed out to me that vulgarity was an effective way to make ignorance audible. I have adopted the practice of avoiding its use ever since.
