I know its common for guys to go by their last names in their everyday lives. How about you girls? My first name doesn't fit my personality, so I've been going by my last name for years. I've actually had people tell me they're uncomfortable with my first name (and it is a very common name)!
Do any other girls go by their last name on a regular basis?

Just to clarify, I prefer my last name to my first name, so it doesn't bother me! My last name is actually a unisex first name. :-)

My name is Noonan! that is how I choose to be called, referred to, perceived, and thought of. My first name is Kayla, and my middle name is Kay. Nothing wrong with that, but so be it. As Noonan, am a preson first and foremost. I love that. It gives me a sense of equality with men. Yet, at the same time, I am a young woman who enjoys being feminine. I prefer wearing dresses, having long hair, and habitually going barefoot.

A few woman in my office go by their last names but it's usually done among friends rather than *everybody* calling her by her last name.

I don't think so. I'm saying that I'm proud at my name, and you should be proud of it too. My first name doesn't really match my personality, but I'm still proud of it. Besides, having a name that's not fitted to a personality is cool for me.

My Mom went by her intials for years, everyone called her "Max".
My daughter is married, her last name is Binx & her friends all call her Binx, they call her husband Jinx.
So, yes, I guess, it would depend on the last name I'm sure.

my husband and i use to call each other by our last name for fun.. it use to throw people off.. til they got the joke.. i do know a few girls who like their last name better than their first.. one i know her last name is a first name so she uses that...so if u like it use it...

No, usually in sporting situations they'll go by the last name because that's the one you usually remember.
