Money can be made/found/inherited/grifted/etc from a number of places in a number of ways-it does not solve all problems, but often helps. If you are confused by the choice between money and love, then you are not in love. My wife and I have lived at every level of income, and, believe it or not, our relationship has always been sound and enduring; so, I don't think this is an either/or question, only a challenge as to whether or not love actually exists.

If there is no love, than all the money in the world would not be able to hold me there. Money can buy things, not feelings. I would rather live in a cave with someone I loved with all my heart than a mansion with someone I couldn't stand. I am 45, intelligent, have been in several long term relationships (9 years, 14 years and 5 years) and none of them were about money. The guys in between that flashed the cash were fun for a short while, but with no substance- and I need the emotional connection to make it work.
You asked for realism and this is mine. Thanks!

Money is always useful in life. It pays for everything you are going to need. You wouldn't be unhappy because you are well fed, spoiled and sometimes bratty. If you have all of that but you're lonely. What would be the point. I would choose Love over Money anyday. Money would be there until it's not there any more. Love, love can last forever.

I think love is more important. Because it's love that helps the poor get money. And, you can't be happy just with money, cliche as that sounds. I've seen people poorer than poor who are happier than many very rich family friends. Without love, society would crumble. Their would be no social reciprocity. Life as we know it would turn to chaos. Money, on the other hand, is not such a necessity as it is a man-made concept.

Money comes and goes. One day you have it and the next day it could be gone.
If you have true love, treat it right and it stays.
I've been rich, and I've been poor. I've been married 6 years and we lost everything, and starting out from scratch, you realize that it's just 'stuff'. The things money buys do not matter in the long run. It's all just crap that collects dust and gets put away in a spare room to rot.

Money is the biggest stress on love. You can have love but, if you're always in the hole where money is concerned you're going to be miserable. I'd rather be comfortable financially and be ahead before finding love...hard to catch up from behind.

You can't hug money, you can't talk to money, and you can't share all of those beautiful moments in life with money. Love is the ONLY thing that matters. If you have true love you are already rich (boy was that cheeeezeee! But true)
