The Romans were big time copiers, but I think they stole a lot more from Greece than from Egypt, if you look at their culture, archecture, art, etc, it is not very like Egypt but very like Greece.

sometimes I read funny question about Egyptians and one is this :
1) Egyptiens were not black skinned people at all. They were not described as black skinned by other peoples (Babilonese, Persian , Hittite, neither in Bible...) and they didn't describe themselves too as black skinned. Also remember we have quite well conserved corpses (The mummies) and none of them is black skinned. If you would have the time to take a look to some original ancient egyptian picture you would see that there are also pictures of black skinned people, often slaves or war prisoners, who are described as "Nubian". that meant in general coming from Sudan. Egyptians were not much different from other people of middle east.
2) Romans stealing ? What does it mean First of all Romans were ONE of the many foreign people conquering Egypt after the end of New Reign. And they didn't steal more that did before Alexander, or the Persians. In general they conserved what they found. In Roman times Egypt was a quite rich country, ther granary of Roman Empire, and we have traces that people lived well there. Philosophical schools went on up to V century, to be replaced by Theological schools after. We have a lot of corpses coming from the Roman era showing a quite refined society, with a taste for beauty and culture. Have I to remember that for example quite all the "Lost new testaments" have been found in the XX century during archeological reserches on Roman era in Egypt ? The end of "Ancient Egypt" started when Christianity drove to the end of old Egyptians believings, and ended with the storm of Arab invasion in VIII century, that really cancelled what remained of that old world.

the roman borrowed from all cultures and made there own. they were known for stealing and remaking greek art, all present greek art that we have today is infact roman copies otherwise we would have no record. it was the romans who stole from greece not egypt. The Roamans even stole teachers from greece to educat the wealthy roman boys. romans had more to do with the greeks than the egyptians. It was the greeks further who were heavily involved within egyptian culture because after alexander we saw the ptolemy dynasty upstart where there were numerous reigns as the greeks sought to bring together the two cultures and co-mingle. this was a greek belief and thought, and not so much roman, there was later Antony and Cleopatra along with caeser.

1. Ancient Egyptians were not black and didn't consider themselves so. Look at the wall paintings, also look at Boutros Ghali, who is a copt, the closest descendents of the Ancient Egyptians.
2. Cultural diffusion is not stealing.
3. The Greeks got some ideas from the Egyptians, and the Romans took over ideas from the Greeks.

Actually they stole everything from the Greeks. Alexander beat the Romans to stealing stuff from Iran and Egypt by about 300 years.

Yes they was black and yes they stole their knowledge and style.Egypt was at its peak 11,000 years before Christ long before Roman was on earth. People sugar coat history for whites. But go on you tube whites are willing admitting they were black.why would that be the only place in Africa that isn't black.and for that guy who commented there was Nubians and light skin blacks there as kings. Egypt isn't named Egypt its real name is kamit.Be Real don't take credit of ****. Look at south Africa now was it always white before.Black are a older race that whites . The 1st whites where the druits and the Romans grew from them and killed them 2 . Bye

Well, although Egypt is on the African continent I am unaware that Egyptians are black, although because of closeness I am sure there was some interbreeding.

Rome conquered Egypt and made it a vassal state. If that's what you mean by "stealing everything"; then I guess they did, but Rome conquered lots of places. That is what the strongest always do.

Nope. There is something nice. Something called a history book. Now, wipe the dust off it, open it, and actually look into it...
