Both were outstanding---I was watching the first night that Married with Children and The Simpsons came on the air, and my ex and I knew at that moment that we were watching history, that the world had changed forever. Some years later we briefly lost our son near the fountain that opens the show---my bad, he was about 4 and wandered off while we were in Chicago at an event...
Roseanne was special too---but there were many times that it tackled more serious issues---it was not pure comedy. I prefer Married With Children, but Roseanne was maybe the better show---and Dan made the show great. best supporting actor on a sitcom since edith bunker
