Okay so we know there's women who abuse the welfare system by having extra children to get more money, so here's a solution, what if we stopped giving them money for the extra children? Or we take the extra children out of their care? Or actually encourage them to get abortions or their tubes tied?

In the long run, no the abortions and tube tying would not cost the tax payers more. And the problem with trying to get the men to have a bycetomy, is that a lot of the women who constantly have children to get more welfare money don't just screw or stay faithful to one man. So in an extreme case would you ask 10 or 20 men to get a bycetomy because they all screwed one lady who ended up with 10 kids??!!!

Socially we do have limits on how many children a "normal" woman can have. I mean look how we react to the Duggar's 17 kids, and others like them. There's TLC shows just for big, more self relient families.

Ideally most people say don't have more than 2 or 3 children.

Of course children help who they are born to but do we really need more children in foster care because their parents are irresponsible?

If they want there checks they ave to do some kind of work for the city / county / trash removal along highways or some kind of work that the city or county pays for.. We all pay for this stuff anyway. Just stop giving it away for free.

Well I see your point and I think that we should make people on welfare take drug tests and pass them or not get it. They should have to not have any more children while on welfare if they do then stop the welfare. If they can not provide for the children they have after having another one while on welfare the children should be taken away and placed somewhere where they will be treated good, have food, friends, and education. Then once the mother shows she is able to support herself and the children she has then she may have custody back. We should give the father(s) of the child/children be allowed to have custody if they can support their child. I would say that may help get many women to stop using welfare as a way to pay for them to stay home and feed them and their kids.

FINALLY someone who has the same ideas as me, lol. I totally agree, to me the perfect solution would be...make them get the contraceptive injection every 3 months, it's 99.9% effective, is given by a doctor once every 3 months (so no 'forgetting' to use contraception) and it has no effect on fertility overall (after you've stopped taking it you should have normal fertility after about a year). They should get money for existing children but they should be made to get the injection in exchange for welfare...if they don't agree to the injection they don't get welfare so they'll be forced to get a job. It disgusts me that some people already on welfare 'plan' to have another child...why the hell should everyone else pay to raise their children? People will complain about human rights being abused...but isn't it against my human rights to have my tax money feed other families instead of my own?

It takes two to tango.
If women are to be encouraged to have their tubes tied, shouldn't men also be encouraged to have sterilization procedures done?

The real question here is what percentage of women and men abuse the welfare system?
What are the circumstances that lead them to do so?

I am willing to bet that having information available about birth control would do more than tampering with their rights as parents.

The welfare system needs an overhaul.
I am not so sure that it is allabout the number of children that people are having.

If one is willing to restrict the decision-making of people on welfare regarding kids, then the same limits must also be placed on those who are not on welfare.

I was with you until you suggested abortion. Abortion is an act of violence, torture and cruelty toward the unborn.

If anyone disagrees, they can find out what it's like first hand, by diving into a tank of acid, drilling a hole in the back of their head and sucking their brain out with a high-powered vaccum cleaner or getting into an industrial slicing machine.

Wouldn't it cost more for women to get abortions and get their tubes tied? There will always be people who abuse things that they receive out of generosity.

There's only one group of people that would harm - and that's the children. They can't help who they're born to.

Try again.
