The Tom has been AFC offensive player of the week for the third week in 7 weeks. Does he deserve it? He's the only player to receive this honor more than once, and he's had it 3 times. Even if you hate him, don't you love savoring the moment, one that could endure through-out your lifetime? Did you watch Brian Griese win Sunday? That game was all Griese, as some writers agree. Brian Griese is a shadow of what Tom Brady is. The Tom can take the team down whenever he wants, and he can do it just like Brian Griese brought the Bears back in the last 2 minutes with no time outs, the Tom can do that anytime. Of course he hasn't had to, but we all know he can. Is he the greatest quarterback of all time?

I think they are going to have similarities. Brady was the backup for Griese at Michigan. Therefore Brady learned from the poise that Griese had in Michigan's national championship in 1997. I would not begin to compare the two now though. Brady is a much better quarterback. But even back at Michigan you never felt Michigan was going to lose with Brady in there, he would always fight back.

Yes, Tom Brady is an outstanding quarterback, but I wouldn't say he's the greatest of all time...yet. He has been unstoppable lately and he does deserve these mentions as player of the week. Look at how much he is surrounded by though. We have not seen him with a poor team yet (just to add, he has corey dillon with deon branch, dillon was probably one of the best running backs in the league at that time...), the defense has always been solid, the offense has always been pretty good, but now he's surrounded with so many wide receivers, it's crazy. He's got so many options that make it so simple for him. Because he's always been surrounded by so much talent, I don't think he'll ever get the praise he deserves.

one : Griese is NFC!

two : if ANY other QB's tossed 6 TD's in 3 quarters, then they got my vote

three : hell no Brady isnt the greatest.
you kids today are so caught up in the moment!
YOU FORGET ABOUT THE RULES CHANGES THAT GREATLY IMPACTED THE GAME!
1N 1979 THE NFL CHANGED 2 RULES THAT HAVE MADE THE GAME MORE OFFENSIVE AND REVOLVED AROUND THE QB.
(A) The 10 yard chuck rule was changed to 5 yards. THIS IS MAJOR! WR's don't have to work nearly as hard to get open. DB's cannot press without getting burned easier. JERRY RICE LIVED OFF THE 5 YARD SLANT. Steve Young and Joe Montana had weak to mediocre arms too. If you notice in todays game , the elite QB's are guys who can throw the ball out there....and there ain't many of those anymore. Payton, Tom, Donovan, and Carson head the list. The rest are erratic.
(B) O Linemen were allowed to extend their hands to block. AGAIN, HUGE!!! This slows down the rush compared to when they had to have their hands tucked in.
Brett Farve made it 200+ games thanks to these rules. There is a reason the previous record was barely over 100 by Jaworski. ( YOU WANT TO SEE A HIT? GO TO YOUTUBE, TYPE IN GREATEST HITS. JAWS GETS LIT THE HELL UP BY BEAR'S HARTENSTINE. TODAY, THAT HITS A FINE, SUSPENSION, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH )
Todays QB doesnt get hit or really worry about getting hit either. D Linemen get flags if they land on top of them with " too much weight ". Its so feminine that you may as well put todays QB in a dress.
With the 10 yard chuck and blocking rules, teams ran the ball more because QB's got hit almost every time they passed.
THE REALLY GREAT QB'S ARE THOSE GUYS. GUYS WHO GOT HIT AND CALLED THEIR OWN PLAYS. NO QB TODAY CALLS EVEN ONE PLAY ON THEIR OWN.
Unitas, Tarkenton, Baugh, Bradshaw, Fouts are just a few I'd list over any QB today.
RESEARCH THE GAME BEFORE PROCLAMATIONS

Well, he definitely deserved AFC offensive player of the week. The guy threw for 354 yds and 6 TD. As for the guy above me who said he's always had talent...please. The guy has always had at best average receivers. Sure, the defense has always been great...but come on, before this year, the best receiver he ever had was deion branch, who might I add, left the team when he was getting good. He's got talent now...and he's putting up insane numbers.

Brady's numbers from Sunday were great, regardless of who the Patriots were playing. He deserved it.
