Sugar content... I mostly read the labels on my son's food... I don't like him to ingest too much sugar. Some orange juice has MORE sugar then Soda does per serving!

Also I check the sodium content of everything. My dad has Congestive Heart Failure, and I prepare all his meals. If he ingests too much salt (and any is really too much), that can cause him to retain water and he's at risk of pneumonia and many other complications of his condition...

We look for fructose. My daughter can't digest it and it causes her to get really sick so we are always looking for that on food labels. It's primarily the only thing we do look for!

The crappy thing is it is in EVERYTHING in the United States. GRrrrrrr!
