if your team made the postseason and got eliminated but you're still interested in following the postseason....

can you root for another team thats still in the playoffs (but not quite as hard as your favorite)

WHy?

why not?

does that make you a bandwagon fan?

does that automatically make you a fan of that new team?

Soo...if you're not supposed to root for another team different than yours in the postseason does that mean you should stop watching baseball then and not pick a side to root for???

There is a difference between being a hardcore NBA fan versus a loyal NBA team fan. Devoted team fans will generally lose interest after their favorite NBA team fails to make the playoffs or gets eliminated. If you're a true NBA fan, even after your team gets eliminated, you would still follow the playoffs because it's in your blood. After the NBA finals ends, there is a 4 month drought period before you get to watch basketball again so a true NBA fan would take the opportunity to watch as many games whenever possible. Of course, many fans get turned off by the NBA finals when boring to watch teams like San Antonio and Detroit make it or when it happens to be a blowout match where a Western conference team would overpower the Eastern conference finalist. However, it's the boring teams who function very well as a unit who have the most chemistry and are often the favorites to go all the way.

So to answer your question, it depends on what do you consider yourself? Are you a fan of the sport of basketball or are you only a devoted fan towards your favorite team. That question, only you can answer. Btw, I'm not sure if your question was meant for this section since you mentioned baseball. Just thought I'd point that out.

First of all you should never stop watching I mean if you jump from team to team then you have issues but wishing the best for a team after your team has been eliminated is just fine. I LOVE the Pistons but, I like a lot of other teams and as long as they are not playing the Pistons I will root for them but, when your team is playing you should be behind them at all times hands down. And to the guys who said the pistons are not fun to watch must be watching a different squad than I am because those boys do there thing out there and Tay and his blocks and Max and his explosiveness and Sheed well enough said we WILL be back this year

It's easy for me to say "It's ok" because I don't reside in USA. My point is that you must have a back-up team of your choice. I know it sucks if your favorite team doesn't make it to the Championship match. For the love of the game there must be something that would encourage you to go on and root for a team that would ignite your passion, but not taking your best team for granted. This will show your true feelings regarding the sport that you embraced. I tell you it's normal and there is nothing wrong with it.

Of course not, bandwagon fan is once that team does something bad he switch of to another, they won't even wait for improvement.
I have been Miami Heat fan, no not since they win the championship, I like them when Shaq join the team, I can tell they are going to be good especially as Shaq my fav player of all time. As for last season, it was **** watching Miami Heat play, almost like no full rooster will play at the same time. But I still like them. Although I'm starting to like the warriors first its my hometown team, 2nd they just play interesting basketball so I like them now, I pretty sure I'm not a bandwagon fan.

The first part is my answer xD

I'm not an expert at this sort of stuff but i don't think it would be wrong to root for a different team. and you can be a fan of more than just one team...its not like there is a rule or a law that says that you can only be a fan of one team...

i dont think so. if your team is gone, the i think its ok to root for another team, its not like youre jumping ship and abandoning your team. you want to stay interested in the playoffs so you pick a team you would like to see succeed. nothing wrong with that, i mean someone besides your team has got to win right?

doesn't matter man. as long as you are having fun and enjoying it, who cares. it means you are a fan of the sport, and you will learn as well as you will enjoy. I used to think it is bigamy, but really, it is not.
